Here is my pics of my new HK45 Compact. Thanks to NJ's RIGID gun control conglomerate for making me feel like a complete felon for buying it! :)

Some initial impressions are that this V1 version is something I could see myself really getting used to on the HK45C and enjoying as I've only use the LEM so far.

The trigger is great to me. I'm not overly sensitive about that issue and do not require my triggers to "break like glass" or walk on water for that matter. But it seems to be a robust trigger and compliments appropriate -imo for a combat pistol.

After cleaning the factory goo off, I lubed it and I've had no probs with the finish thus far and it doesn't look like I ever will. Keep in mind that the 9mm P2000 used for size comparision has OVER 10000 rounds thru it and has been dropped on concrete four times and sees ALOT of hard use. It was not cleaned for the photos. It has not been cleaned in 6 months and has been fired. It has never failed once, despite the abuse.

All in all, I'm VERY happy with the purchase and am completely satisfied, despite the high price, the quality and most of all, the reassurance that I don't ever need to monkey around with it/ get a RMA return/ take it to a gunsmith/ contemplate 'getting rid of' or selling it, is worth it's price of around $825.

quikz, those are both very nice! I need one like the one in your avatar! Its funny how the P2000 is almost as big as the 45C.

Thanks for the good comparision and pics. Are you still planning on doing the LEM conversion on your HK45c?

I really like the look of that Blackhawk leather IWB holster. What model is it and how does it fit (by the pic it looks great)?

Thanks

The Blackhawk IWB leather holster fits very well and the leather is very supple enough to begin with, unlike some other leather holsters (Safariland).

The belt loop is completely 360 adjustable for angle and is secured sturdily by a thick velcro medium. There is a screw to adjust holster gun hold. The leather seems VERY high quality to me and smells it too. Figures since it is Italian leather & made in Italy.

The belt loop itself will stick out of a t-shirt so you may want to flatten it using the same tricks on a leather catcher's mitt. It has a good molded sight track and will reholstering very well. The belt loop is quite large so don't be like the many pansy guys in Jersey (you've seen them), who wear those queer little thin belts. I'd say minimum 1.5 inch wide belt would be ok.

Go to Lawmen Supply in Egg Harbor. They are the best around in Jersey and even vs. other states. Price of Blackhawk IWB Leather holster approx $40 at Lawmen (special order).

I am planning, like many others, to do a LEM conversion, but want to retain the V1 parts for variability.

You HK45 guys are killing me. If I buy another gun before I buy my girlfriend an engagement ring she's gonna leave my ass with a mortgage payment to pay by myself!!

Great pics. Thanks. The HK45C is the first HK and the first 45 that I have carried. It is a great gun and I am very happy with it. It took some getting used to after carrying smaller 9mm guns.

Got any comparison pics of the HK45c and USP Compact (and maybe even a Glock 19)?

I have a G19 and the 45c. The size is very comparable, but for me, the G19 carries flatter because it is much thinner in the slide and less bulky at the back of the slide where it is sticking out of my pants. I carry the G19 in a MTAC holster and the 45c in a crossbreed supertuck (almost the same as an MTAC). I do like the MTAC better than the supertuck but they don't offer it for the 45c.

Which do you prefer carrying? I thought about replacing my USP .40 compact with a HK45c and also plan on purchasing a Glock 19. I'm 5'7 135 lbs.

Sorry, but I believe the 'Flat Earth' or tan frame is available only thru milspec orders(?) from Hk.

For now at least, Hk won't be selling tan frames. But I am willing to bet, that will all change when this particular product/model reaches some maturity in it's sales cycle.
