I saw a gent who had a really nice thread protector with a rubber o-ring inside on his Tactical 45. Either my search parameters arent good but I cant find anything. I have a factory HK thread protector but this other one more robust.
Any help?

You could go buy a 5 cent o-ring and put it in yours. Just a thought.

I use the ones made by TROS, Mark McWillis. He does not have an o-ring inside but I use a 3/8 by 1/16 in the large groove next to the barrel and the TO over-rides the o-ring just enough to keep it in place. I have one of those FS with the o-ring inside for my 9SD and it breaks about ever fourth time I take it off and is rather a PITA to get another on. The TP might be easier to put an o-ring in but I have been using Mark's TP for about 5 years and I have 7 or 8 of them so I see no reason to use anything else.
CCF use to make a darned nice one with an o-ring inside them but I don't think they are doing anything now except Glock frames.
