I noticed on the Nill Griffe website that they offer grips in a variety of different woods:

Amboina
ArborVitae(Thuya)
Grained Walnut
Laminated Wood
Maple, white lacquered
Rosewood
Stabilized Maple
Walnut select

Has anyone requested any of these special materials for their P7 grips, or for any other handgun? Post pics!

As Larry Davidson of Davidson Knives (http://www.davidsonknives.com/grips/grips.htm) is in the process of making G10 grips for the P7M8, you might want to throw that option on the list too.
The ones he makes for 1911s are gorgous... and are only $65.

This is called the Spyro-Gyro pattern.

Just throwin' it out there... :D

Here are some representative exotic woods you could request them to make grips in - last I checked, some of these woods were not on the Nill's web site, it dont hurt to ask or request your favorite type of wood...who knows?

I'm hungry for a second source of P7 grips, especially one that doesn't adjust prices for the weak dollar. Those wooden 1911 grips look fantastic, I think Larry can definitely give Nill-Griffe a run for the money! Does anyone know how far along he is on the grips?

He's buried in 1911 orders, so the P7 grips are on the back burner for now. Best thing you can do is shoot him an e-mail inquiry, he'll put you on his P7 grip interest list, and give you a heads up when the grips become available for sale.

Those are nice looking

If you haven't found it yet, go to Larry's gallary page here (http://www.davidsonknives.com/grips/gallery.htm)... the natural/gold micarta and the "black hole" styles are killer.

Haha, excellent photoshop job! Not sure how I feel about the Spyro on the P7, but this gets me excited about the possibilities!

On this subject, I sent my P7 grips to an exotic 1911 grip maker to see if he can make P7 grips as well. If he is successful I'll post some pics.

Chances are, if the grip maker was willing to take on the project, the grips he makes will be dimensionally correct and work great.

I don't want to give his information out until he is sure he can make the grips and make it worth his time.

I had also previously contacted another company ( http://marschalgrips.com/ ) to see if they had some interest in making P7 grips. they recently replied after I had already sent my P7 grips to the first individual. They said they are interested, and they would contact me again in a month's time. Since that time, a third company has been selling P7 grips on ebay, so I don't know how that will affect their interest in producing the grips. I will keep you posted on the progress of the grip manufacturing with both companies.
