LED bulb for M2?

Does anyone know of an available LED bulb for the H&K Tactical Illuminator? Anyone here retrofitted theirs?

The problem is dissapating the heat generated by the LED to avoid "cooking" the LED, thereby shortening its life. Everything around the incandescent bulb socket is plastic, including the reflector and bezel. If it were metal, that would be a different story...

I'm big into the flashlight forums and I've looked into modifying the HK MKI and II (and the Insight clones) to accept some of the latest drop-in D26 LED modules (230 lumens) like you can get for your Surefire C/P/Z/G series of lights. The design would also allow for future upgrades as LED lumens increase. Unfortunately for the amount of money to spend in upgrading the light, you might as well just buy a new LED weaponlight.
