Who knows wheter or not the match barrel that comes with the match weight has polygonal or "old fashioned" rifling?

The Match has polygonal rifling, H&K changed from land & groove rifling some time in 1994 to polygonal rifling.

If it is a genuine HK barrel, then it should have polygonal rifling. I saw "Match Kits" in a German HK catalog... so if this what your referring to, then yes, they should be polygonal. Best way to ensure would be to ask the seller. Jarvis (and possibly others) "match" barrels would have standard rifling...
I have two very early USP .40's and they both have standard rifling. I was surprised by this as I already owned a late 70's P9S with the polygonal rifling. I've always wondered why HK made these early USP's with standard vs. polygonal. Anyone know?

thanks guys!

By the way, how come polygonal barrels are more expensive than land and grove rifling? is it because they supposedly are better than l&g?
(i say supposedly because i dont feel the difference, but then again, i am no master shot either ;) )

I'd guess it has to do with manufacturing costs. Is the polygonal not hammer forged vs. the land and groove being broach cut? I think so, but can't remember for sure...
