Was wondering if anyone had one of the ALS holsters for their HKs. I see now that the Model 6377 and 6378 (concealable ALS) both are available for the P30. I was thinking of trying to get one, but I am curious how the locking system holds up etc. Anyone have personal experience with these? Maybe some pics of what it looks like when worn so I can see how high it actually rides on you etc.
Can't find a lot of info like I'd wish to. Thanks for anyone who can provide some feedback.

I like the holster but not ALS, You should really try it first to see how you like it. Some people do, some people don't. I don't really feel the need for a locking mechanism anyway.

I don't have the ALS for my HK's yet, but I have it for my duty Glock holsters. It is great and not much different from the 6280's with only strap retention. Once you get used to drawing your firearm it is just as fast as the standards, but the one thing I really like is being able to holster and have some retention instead of none.

Not that I know anything about being an LEO but if i were one I would want some form of retention. Isn't required in some cases?

That's what I thought...better to have some retention. I can also see Steelshooter's point about trying it first. Unfortunately, that's not an option here so...you know I'm kind of stuck in making choices in that regard. I do kind of see how some people either love it or hate it, it is an extra step to get used to but luckily they made it very easy (according to what I've read and seen).
Hoping someone had used the ALS before and could report what they like or don't like.
BTW: at least around this area all Duty Holsters worn by LEO in open carry must have retention systems. Most of what I see is Safariland Duty Holsters of some variant.

I have read threads on the ALS system on other forums and people seemed to really like it. i think there was discussion of it on the M&P forum.

Thanks, I managed to find a few threads and they didn't seem to think it was the best concealment holster, but it has a good retention system and they use it mainly for practice before moving to their duty holster which uses ALS as well.
Makes sense I suppose.

i wish our department would switch to a holster that has atleast a lev 2 retention system in it. right now we carry the sig sauer p226 357sig in a safariland model 200 top gun holster. 1 little snap is all that holds the gun in. the snap is constantly unsnapping without you knowing it. talk about officer safety.

That really sucks! I carry mine in a Safariland Raptor double retention and it is a dream!

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread but I wanted to know if there was any feed back on the Safariland 6377 and the P30. Does the ALS work well for the p30? I remember some talk about Safariland having to find a way to improve the lock on the ejection port or something along those lines.
