I have a USP45 (my first and only HK pistol) and I have read some of the threads about the grip size; I have a small hand and do not find it a problem. I looked at the HK45 and loved it, and may trade some stuff to get one. Is there any other benifit to the HK45 over the USP other than the grip size?

Not really from what I can see. The major differences are in the grip and a more modern look. I have a warm place in my harT for the USP .45 :)
IMO the grip on the HK45 could have been better. I wish they had a back plate that is completely flat.

In your hard....:43:..???..nevermind I don't want to know
Anyways, with the HK45 you also have the front serrations, O ring, new mag release, little bit of a thinner profile.

Is there any difference in accuracy between the two? I am not that great with a handgun but did OK with the USP. Also, the trigger seemed fine to me, not quite as good as my 1911, but still very acceptable.

Well, I think it will help in accuracy if your hand is too small for the USP. In that respect the HK45's smaller grip should help you with the recoil/grip.
They both will be darn accurate, I mean heck they're HKs

I find the HK45 to be more accurate then my USP .45 which is most likely due to the improved and much more comfortable grip. The HK45 also seems to handle recoil better.
The trigger on the HK45 is also improved and better then on the USP as it uses the Match Trigger parts found in the Tactical, Elite, Expert, and Mark 23.

Accuracy is 99.9% shooter. That's all there is to it.
And accuracy isn't everything, a 1 inch grouping might be superb, but a 2 inch grouping still equals a kill.
For reference. I shot a glock off and on for 7 years, picked up an SAXD and shot that better right off the bat, shot my USP somewhere between the two... and the rest, as they say, is history.
Even a poorly designed handgun, assuming that it is consistent, is going to be capable of very good accuracy with a decent shooter behind it. Unless you are looking for match-grade accuracy, in which case neither of these guns is probably for you (look for a match or expert for starters) get and carry whatever you shoot comfortably and trust.
I bought and carry the USP because of it's features, the ability to carry however you want, the reliability, the uniqueness of it (maybe a bad reason, but when everyone drives a Camry the last car I want is a Camry), etc. I didn't buy it because of my pinpoint accuracy. You give me an XD and I might get one between the eyes, but let that bullet drift a couple inches out of the USP and guess what... still dead!
Besides, what's the fun in a gun that you already shoot perfectly, shooting is so much more rewarding when you can see yourself improve.

I know you already have the USP and whatnot, this is mostly a rant in general :D
In summary, I say, get whatever you want! Personally I would hang on to the USP and get an HK45 later, even if I had to wait longer. But I generally regret selling things off so can only assume it will be the same with guns. Maybe you are more utilitarian and only need one good tool, if so more power to you- still same summary, get what you want :D

Also has the Superluminova rechargable night sights and the match trigger. Should it make a difference, also note the HK45 holds 2 fewer rounds than your USP45.

I agree. There seems to be less muzzle rise with the HK45 than with my Tactical, which I no longer have, so follow up shots are quicker.
I can't think of anything I liked better about my Tactical over the HK45. Ergonomics, recoil, and accuracy are all better for me with the HK45.

I appreciate all the input, you guys are great. I will keep my USP and get a HK45 later; I need more guns anyway :) Volodymyr, thanks for the info, much appreciated. I love my 1911s but the HKs have this strange appeal that you only realize once you own one.

anyone have side by side pics of the magwells so we can see a difference in grip size?

I believe the HK45 is probably closer to the USP tactical than the standard USP. They both have similar feeling triggers and O-ring barrels for tight slide lockup and accuracy. I think they both feel very similar shooting, but I sold my Tactical after getting the HK45 because I preferred everything about it and had no use for the threaded extended barrel.
I have not had the pleasure to shoot an HK45, tho I have shot the HK45C, thats a sweety!
Last week end I shot my plain Jane USPF .45 with hard chrome top end, DecalGrip and green/orange Meprolight sights, I shoot at 45 foot range. This USP 45 always shocks me at how accurate a pistol it is, all my shots are in the small black circle on a NRA 50 foot target - I doubt an HK45 is any more accurate than this USP 45. My USPF 45 rocks!
Cant wait to get an HK45! :)
