I just bought some of this for my HK45, anyone have any experience with this round?

For quite a while the Winchester Ranger line was considered one of, if not the best defense ammo on the market. It should provide the desired results, just test a box through.

I think the SXT is very good but everything I've been reading about the Federal HST makes me think it's an even better choice, especially since it is usually less expensive than most other premium defensive rounds.

There is Ranger SXT and Ranger T. You want the Ranger T if you can find it as it is an improvement over SXT.

Personally I use Gold Dot 230 grain as nobody has anything bad to say about this round and many of the other JHP's are controversial in one way or another. Another excellent round is Black Hills which used to use Gold Dot bullets but now uses Hornady. I have "heard" for whatever that is worth, that the Hornady bullet is not a consistent expander.
