Which night sights will give a 'pumpkin on post' sight picture on a USPc in .40 caliber @ 15 yards? One or two inches high would be okay, too - just not 3-6 inches, or something like that.

I've searched before, and remember reading one poster who had installed a shorter factory HK front sight, although I do not know if it was just a regular sight, or a night sight.
I also read before a post where one member suggested that aftermarket night sights were the way to go, but I cannot find the posts now to find out which ones (which brand).

I do not like the 'dot on target' sight picture, and want to change it - simple as that.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your time.

I'm not sure what you mean by pumpkin on post, but I suspect the Slant Pros/Straight Eights might be what you are looking for. I intend to get a set installed as soon as I get some cash flow. http://www.heinie.com/

The above mentioned and if you want adjustable so you can have your pumpkin in a post no matter what round you are shooting, look at the MMC adjustable. They are as bullet proof as any fixed sight, available in different colors, and you can also get them in different configurations if you don't mind green dots on the rear.
For instance, I like to use the bar-dot-bar set up which sort of looks like this: -o-
But you can get the bar under dot, o, or the boxed dot, which is like a box with an open lid and a dot in the middle.

Are you saying you prefer a 6 o'clock sight picture?

Yep, that was me. It was a standard HK white-dot front sight.

For my USPC .45, I installed MMC the 3 dot with yellow in rear and green in front 10 years ago.

Two weeks ago had MMC install on my PSK, bar bar in green for rear with yellow front due to old eyes and not tested. I tried to install the front dovetail and was WAY to large to fit, O.20 difference. Reported the problem and sent my slide to Jeff, "the gunsmith" with a promise of same day turn around. MMC kept my slide for a full week with the answer being " needed to spec the dimensions as the first one we had and different than the P2000". So thank me all you PSK owners.

The PSK is 90% carry choice. I love the adjustability but now find the glow could be brighter. However, this is due to age. With some plus spectacle correction all is fine.

MMC customer service sucks. The women answering the phone are trying hard but senior management needs a butt kick. The product is good.

Thank you to everybody for your replies!

Sorry for not being more clear about what I wanted to acheive - I want to get the point of impact right on top of the front sight post.

All the options look great - I prefer fixed sights on handguns, but it looks like the MMC adj will be the way to go for now, as long as they stand behind their products.

Has anyone had any issues with the MMC adj sights when the gun is used for carry purposes?

Hey guys, just thought I would let you know I decided on MMC.

I sent my slide off to MMC for the adjustable sights. The turn around was only about a week. The sights are well constructed.

The only problem I had with the sights is that I paid the extra for the Teflon coating, and upon opening the box, the coating was worn off the tops of the rear sight 'ears', and also where the tool contacted the side of the sights.
I did call MMC, and the person I spoke to said that their lifetime warranty extends to the finish as well, and I could return them to be refinished if I saw rust, or decided to sell the gun, etc.

That said, after cleaning & relubricating the slide, I took the pistol to the range & the sights were about dead on - I only adjusted the rear sights 2 adjustment clicks to bring the POI down just a little. Now I am able to have the sight picture I wanted.

Overall, except for the pre-worn Teflon finish, I am very happy with these sights so far.
