Yes the barrels can be exchanged with ease.
The springs are the same and the guide rod is the same.
The caveat to this is that the sights are set up for the caliber it is shipped with. No big deal because each will have a bullet in each caliber that it likes.

Myself, I have the new MMC adjustable sights on all of my HK's because I like to be able to buy ammo anywhere. Winchester might not be avalible in one place but easy to get in another. ,
No matter what we're talking about an inch or so. Important for a target shooter but worthless for CCW.

I just ordered a .357/.40 combo from CDNN. I'm hoping the native caliber is .357 and the spare barrel is .40 as I really want the slide marked .357.

They got a good deal going on them... $699.00 and thats cheaper than a standard SK is at local gun shops. I'm really looking forward to it. They also have the 12rnd mags with the grip extension sleeve too.

CDNN is a good outfit. If they send you something that doesn't work they will go out of their way to make it good.

Don't worry; I can confirm that the combo deal has 357sig on the slide from cdnn.

Hey thanks for the info! That's great news. I'm really looking forward to it. I think this factory combo is a home run for anyone considering a CCW pistol from HK.

Thanks again!

FINALLY!!!

I can now post photos of my new P2000SK Combo from CDNN. I've had the pistol about a week, but my photo server has been down for a while.

So, here's what I got from CDNN:

I really like the P2000 12rnd mags with the X-Grip! I think this combo is a great deal. I'm glad I took the plunge!

That's a great looking set-up. Do they automatically ship an X-GRIP with every mag?

Good luck with the new toy;

P.S. You're going to love the .357 SIG!

I called CDNN yesterday and the guy on the phone said they didn't have an x-grip and gave the impression that he didn't even know what I was talking about. I was going to order several mags from them and a couple of x-grips as well. Maybe they have them and they are just for this package.

I wish they had some for sale for us peasants. Anyone know if they have them for sale at all w/o the gun?

Thanks for the kind comments.

When I was looking at my CDNN catalog, (Volume 2008-3, pg2) they have an ad for the $699 SK combo. In the lower right corner, they show the "12rnd Mags with Sleeve" for $49.99...

I placed my order with Jerry, and he asked if I wanted any of these mags. I ordered 4 of them. They seem kind of expensive, but IMO, most HK mags are anyway. I'll probably get at least a couple more 12rnd mags and at least three more 9rnd flat bottom mags.

Now, I'm checking out CCW holsters. :D

Galco has some nice ones. I Love their Miami Vice models, but I may go with a conventional on the hip model. I also like the way they have their website set up. It's easy to select the model you want and they have good photos of the holster and how it sits when worn. At any rate, I'll be getting a leather holster for it sooner or later. Delfatti isn't taking orders right now. He's probably backlogged. building a bunch for Ken Lunde. That would keep him busy for a long time just with Ken's P7 collection alone.

Thanks again for the encouragement. If the weather holds up this weekend, I may spend Father's Day at the range with my SK! :61:

May I suggest a Wild Bills No Such Agency. It is extremly comfortable and you will be able to carry all day in comfort.

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there!

Just a brief range report. I ran 150rnds through my SK in both calibers this morning. 1 box of .357 and 2 boxes of .40. As expected, it was flawless. I had no trouble keeping a palm sized group at the 7yd. line.

I found the extended 12rnd P2000 mags with the X-Grip to be very beneficial to consistency. There is one minor caveat to using the X-Grip. If for whatever reason the X-Grip slides upward away from the base pad, the corner can get pinched in such a was as to prevent the mag from being fully seated into the pistol. It's VERY important to press the X-Grip downward to the base pad to make sure it can seat properly when inserted. I don't consider this a real problem, just something to consider when practicing, to avoid what could be a problem during a high stress re-load. I may apply some removable adhesive to the interior of the X-Grip in order to keep it mated to the base pad.

Aside from that, the pistol ran like a champ and was surprisingly controllable with both .357 and .40 ammo. Follow-ups were faster than I expected. I really like the single finger groove on the frontstrap. For me, it helps a lot in keeping the pistol from shifting under recoil.

All in all, a really excellent CCW pistol!

When you first get a holster it will be very tight. A secret that works to be able tp use a holster is to put the gun into a baggie than put it in the holster, for some reason it will stretch the leather just enough to use the gun.

I called and talked to Chuck today and they only have the 12 round .40/.357 cal mags with sleeves available. No 13 round 9mms. Guess I'm outa luck and will have to purchase items seperately.

are the serial numbers on your two barrels the same?

Actually, the spare .40 barrel has no serial #. It does have the laser etched HK logo, date code and proof marks typically found on HK pistols. Also the factory box is laser etched and has bar codes which indicate a factory combo package. Oddly enough, my barrel is an AH date code and my pistol is an AG date code. I sort of wish the date codes matched, but both run just fine in my pistol.
