A bit hefty in the pricetag for me, but if you have a use for it why not?

HK barrels are top notch by any stretch of the imagination.

What threads do they use? M16x1RH, M16X1LH, or .578 or something else?

No idea, they I face a real possibility that they won't fit my existing surpressors... but we will find out tomorrow i hope. =) They do have an extended front end, even if the threads are the same.

Do you need to change anything else other than the barrels?

The HK45 manual clearly states that: "The MK23 and USP 45 Tactical sound suppressors CANNOT be attached to the HK45 or HK45C pistols as they are not 'tuned' for proper function on these models!" I e-mailed them about 8 months ago and they told me the same thing. New barrels don't work with old cans. Maybe an adapter will be made for "HKI approved suppressors" so old cans work with new barrels??? Who knows.

Unless they changed something after they printed the operator's manual, I'm assuming the cans most people have will not work with the new barrels. Why they would release a barrel before it has a can that works with it is a mystery to me. A bigger mystery though is why anyone would purchase it without knowing if their cans work with it...or why they would purchase it without having a can to put on the end in the first place.

All that being said...I can't wait for them to release the pistol with the full HK45T model + the new can or can adapter ...not just the barrel. :)

The only suppressor ever approved for the Mark 23 was Knights, and most people use other ones than that. HK is very picky about what they certify as "tuned" for their guns. If my current suppressors screw on, then that is good enough for me... Will find out tomorrow. =)

Are you talking HK45's or USP's? I'm surpised they would sell the HK45 threaded barrels before they come out with the HK45 Tactical. Or have they and I missed it?

99999
06-05-2008, 05:50 PM
you missed it. =) that pictured link that I provided is from the HK-USA forum of the actuall HK45 and HK45c barrels. so yes, they are out before the tacticals. my understanding is that the delay on the tacticals is finding and getting the tactical night sights ready for them.

The little Groves or wedges on the end of the barrel for grabbing the O-ring used inside the Knights Armament Suppressor Piston. It is the only one with an internal O-ring that I am aware of.....

But that's what it's there for. To help prevent unscrewing....

suppressor has had an o ring in the piston for as long as the kac
our's serves two purposes, a) helps prevent the can from vibrating loose and unscrewing, and b) help keep expansion gases from leaking out of the can

Thanks for the info, but either way, it doesn't look like the crimping on the end of the barrel made it into production, but I will show you all tomorrow. =)

I am a newb to the HK pistol. I recently picked up a HK USP pistol in Flat Dark Earth. I think it is the combat model in 45. Will these barrel drop in it or are they for the newer HK45?

They are for the newer HK45, however threaded barrels are available for the USP as well.

I suppose someone could answer this question if there was such a thing as a real live 45T. Yes there have been prototypes, but they don't call them proto... for nothing

I just wanted to make it clear that comparing the HK45 threaded barrels to the USP treaded barrels, the threaded ends of them are exactly the same. So the same treaded protectors and surpressors, etc, will work just fine.

Slight correction, there are more KAC suppressors in circulation and use then your cans. In speaking with HK they specified it was for use with the KAC can. Didn't you loose your license agreement with BT, thus negating your coverage by HK.

I mean since you saw fit to correct me, it's only fair I correct you...Especially since one of us knows exactly what they are talking about and all....

You aren't correcting anything he said. He didn't say there were more CCF/Swiss cans in circulation than KAC cans. He just said that the CCF cans have used the o-ring for just as long as the KAC cans. And that the o-ring on the CCF can serves an additional purpose than just in an attempt to keep the silencer from unscrewing, so he figures the KAC o-ring serves the same additional purpose.

CCF and B&T did have a licensing disagreement, and CCF no longer makes silencers. The ones marked as B&T and made by CCF are probably completely covered under warranty by HK, while ones that aren't marked won't be.

Either way, it's a pointless thing to bring up in this thread, and it seems like you're just trying to pick a fight with one of the more knowledgeable guys on this site. I just wish he'd post more.

Just a heads up: sgcusa.com still has about 35 threaded barrel kits for the HK45 and 46 kits for the HK45C still left. The kit includes a factory threaded barrel, factory thread protector, and factory O-ring. The kits go for $274.95 plus S/H.
BTW, Nice pics and info all. I am fairly new to owning HKs and find all of the info awesome, as well as informative.
