View Full Version : An interesting find...

Perusing the local emporium today, I found something I'd never heard of... a USPf "Competition".

9mm, with Jet Funnel, two white magazines, Novak-type rear sight/red fiber optic front sight, and the best part... a LEM trigger that is ridiculously light.

The HK product code is HKM709007CC. This is an "AH" pistol, NIB, so I would imagine its relatively new.

I had, for a while, a "regular" 9mm USPf/LEM with a Jet Funnel and some white mags, purchased from a member here, that I foolishly traded. I've had occasion to consider that dumb move, so I snarfed this one.

The trigger break is noticeably lighter than either of my two USPc .45s, both of which have the FPB spring replacement; and considerably lighter than my wife's P2000 LEM 9mm. The trigger has an external stop, too. Looking forward to trying this out.

Sorry if this is old news, but I haven't seen anything written about this variant.

I know, worthless thread without pics. If someone wants to post them, I can snap a few and send them to ya if you'll provide an e-mail addy.

That is the USP Combat Competition. The trigger is a hybrid match/LEM trigger. It was a new pistol for '07.

I have the .40S&W model, only with a standard DA/SA trigger which is special order only.

Can you elaborate on the combat competition trigger and how it's a hybrid of the match/LEM. I know that currently you can get the LEM in 2 version. One having the heavy DA pull and the other being very light almost no resistance up until it breaks. So I wonder what the combat competition LEM adds to the picture. Thanks.

The "heavy DA pull" is a Variant 7 and is NOT a LEM; the LEM is its own animal.

From what I can see, comparing against the other three LEM-equipped pistols I have, this so-called "match LEM" simply has lighter springs and an integral trigger stop.

One thing I did notice; this pistol does not have the "lock-out" feature under the hammer spring.

Correct. It's simply a lighter LEM meant for target use instead of carry.

To my recollection, the "lock-out" is under the Jet-Funnel, not that I ever advise you actually use it. ;)
