Just a question for any LEO's out there that carry the P2000 as their duty carry. I am trying to be a Reserve Dupty Sheriff and I have to furnish my own handgun. What are your opinions about the weapon as a duty carry, 40 S&W, with the LEM (V2) mod? I prefer DAO, that is what I am used to. Any input would be great, thanks

A .40 P2000 with the LEM trigger and night sights would be a great duty pistol. It is small enough you could also CCW it when not working as a reserve.
I am an NRA Certified Handgun/Shotgun Law Enforcement instructor. I use the USP .45f converted to LEM as a main duty pistol and a P2000sk LEM 9mm for off duty and court in dress clothes.
I like not having to decock when rehostering or moving. Quality LE pistol training involves shooting with both hands and on the move. This is not target practice.
If you are strapped for cash, an S&W M&P .40 would be a good option too.
Being a reserve is a good way to get experience for a full-time position and/or a way for people to serve locally. Both are good things. Take it seriously but don't be a Tackleberry.
