I tested the USP45 at the range today. I love it. Excellent accuracy.
I have a 9mm 92FS and want to buy either a USP45 or USP45compact.
I am concerned about accuracy. How much less accurate is the compact?

Welcome to the forum! IMO the USPc .45 is just as accurate as the fullsize. I found myself shooting the compact better then my fullsize USP .45. I think the main reason for this is that the USPc fit my hand better then the large USP grip. There is also not a big difference in recoil between the fullsize and compact. Get the gun that fits you best and is more comfortable. Mag capacity is also not an issue anymore for you (California) with the 10round magazines available for the HK45c and USPc .45.

Lately I have also been more accurate and shooting better with my HK45c then my HK45. :410:

I used to shoot 270s (out of 300) with my 1911. I sold that when I got hired on here b/c they weren't authorized. Got issued a Beretta 92FS. Dropped down to 230s-250s on a good day (very inconsistant). Bought my USPc 45 and will shoot low 290s almost all the time now. Thats my experience. I know Marine guys that are excellent w/ the 92FS...but I wasnt. So I ditched it. Not sure if it was the gun or the caliber or both that I didnt care for. I'll be buying a USPf 45 VERY soon as well...

USP45 Compact, from the hip 30 YRDS consecutive.

Drifting group to center mass off center to head... still not a good outcome.

I've found my USPc .45 to be very accurate -- no problems.

Both are accurate. I say go with the USPc. The grip is just right, and it is still a relatively full size gun. Don't be fooled by the word compact. HK just means it's a smaller hand cannon.

I would say go with the one that fits your hand the best if size isn't otherwise a factor (i.e. concealment). I once owned a full-size USP .40 (I know wrong caliber) which I found difficult to shoot accurately. Then I bought a USP Compact .40 and now easily and consistently shoot tight groups because it fits my hand much better.

Regarding the 92fs, i always found the military issue model easy to shoot very accurately, however, the issue mags were always prone to jamming when exposed to any dust/sand.

Look at the HK45 too! Not that there's anything wrong with the USP and USPc in any size round. But the full size USP45 is very large. So if you dont have the bigest hands, the HK45 is a DREAM!
