I just read the following: "Hey, just got word from someone on the federal side that the slides are breaking in the front where the recoil spring rod goes through the slide's face. (Basically the lower portion breaks off. They are using the hot 155 grain loads. Just a heads up for everyone..."

It's on www.gundirectory.com. It's under the reviews for the P2000. Can anyone actually verify this? I hope to God there isn't that kinda problem with the P2000. After reading Greg Bell's "Project: Break my P2000" I would say it's a bunch of bologna, but sometimes some batches have flaws that others don't. Just curious what your guys' thoughts are, since I plan on buying a P2000 relatively soon, and I don't want part of the slide breaking off of my expensive gun.

Greg treated that gun like s**t!

He bought it from me and set out to destroy it, trying to get this thing to break was such a chore he just gave up, unable to get it to hiccup let along break.

You might want to go for an USPc. It offers more options in terms of trigger variants, and has an external safety as well. The compact is as rugged as it is good looking.

It's worth looking at...

I never believe stories from websites that wont load. That thing is timing out for me.

I don't believe it, anyway, honestly. I've carried my P2KSK daily, and it's gotten at least 50rnds a week for almost 2 years now with no malfunction of any kind.

Sounds like FUD. If Greg actually got tired of trying to break it... it can't be broken.

Anything is possible, but I seriously doubt it. That area of the slide is beefy as hell.
