Ok here I go. I like the HK USP alot but would also like the Picatinny rail to be incorporated. I have been waiting for this for a long time but I don't think it is going to happen HK is too busy with their new handguns. I like everything about the USP series except the light rail. I understand that their new handguns like the P3000 or HK45 have that incorporated but nothing in the 9mm with a long barrel, I also understand that there are adapters but I would also like to use a molded holster like the Galco CCP. So I have a suggestion that might work hope you guys give he some help here. I believe that the existing rail can be modified to work with the Picatinny rail. I remember that the first GG&G adapter had two metal strips that fit into the grooves of the USP and then the adapter slide over that to be tighten with allen wrenches. So I purpose to extend the two metal strips out to an triangle shape cross section just like the Picatinny rail grooves and from there tighten it some how with some holes drilled somewhere. I'm not sure about this part. What do you guys think is there any hope of this working?? I know I had a M3 laser/light once and the width of the M3 is alot wider than the existing width of the USP. Thanks for any help.

Know a good machinist? Anything can be built today with the right talent and enough money. A proper holster on the other hand might be a challenge. A competant holster maker might not be willing to do a one-off.

Or i've been thinking if that gets too complicated maybe a adapter that fits on the M3 or M6 light/laser but snaps on to the hk usp type rail. Do you guys know of an adapter like that? thanks

If you look closely at this picture, you can see where he "extended" the USP rails to the front of the gun and the light slips right on w/ no adapters. Dont know if he used a dremel or what to do it tho...

You can rough it with a dremel and finish with a needle file for smoothing and blending . I built enough molds in my day to know .
