Found HK USPf .40 for my bud, ?'s

I found a deal on a used USPf .40 for my buddy.

$500 for FTF here.
DA/SA RH safety, NO decocker
KE Date code
Trijicon NS
2-10rd & 1-13rd magazines

Slight holster wear on frame and slide with normal wear around the sharp edges and flats.
Normal barrel wear from some neglectful maintenance, but nothin to pay mind to.

I am not sure which variant it is, but he would like to have the safety installed that has a decocker, can this be done? How much and what kind of turn around time are we looking at?

It's a Variant 9.

A friend of mine thought he was buying a V9. That's what the previous owner thought. It was a V1, he just wasn't pressing down hard enough. I only mention that because of the rarity of all but variant 1
