Hey guys, this is the deal. I have two Sig P220R Carry models and don't need both. I have only put 50 rounds through one and am looking to trade it. I have a guy who is looking to work a deal with me and has a pretty decent lineup of firearms to trade. I however am really only seeing two of them glowing and lit up in red since acquiring my first H&K last month (P30). The two in question are both USP's. One in standard .45 and the other in compact .357. Now I initially said heck yeah an H&K .45 to go with my original P220 would be nice, but then I thought hmm. I've never had a .357 before and currently have been told I will "be beaten within an inch of my life" by the wife if I trade the P220 for another .45 ( looks like it may be a sweet b-day this year lol ). So it really only leaves the .357 in my mind. Any pros and cons to this thought process. I am new to the H&K scene, but am really starting to feel like I've been bitten by the H&K bug. Any insight by those with more H&K knowledge would be appreciated...

the .357sig is a fun round to shoot albeit expensive.
I'd go with that and heck, maybe it could become a carry piece? The .357sig round is a screamer and can almost match the .357magnum ballistics with some loadings at 125gr.
For instance double tap loads it to 1450fps.

If I am not mistaken, H&K does not make the USP Compact in .357 Sig anymore. Might be worthwhile just for collecting.

The USPC .357 SIG is such a lousy piece of junk, I bought 3 of them just to be sure.
It's hard to beat;

I personally would go for the usp 45, where you already have another 45. Over the years I have found myself thinning out my collection and trying to consolidate on ammunition. I came to the conclusion that I had a bunch of guns that shot different calibers and no ammunition for any of them. I sold my usp 40 and a some other stuff in different calibers that I had. I now try and stick to common calibers (9mm, 45, 556, 762) and keep a decent supply of ammo.
I think that either way you go you will probably be happy. My brother has a Sig220R Carry, it is a great gun. If I didn't use the USP series then I think I would go with the Sig.

I would go with the fullsize 45. The .357 in the SK is quite a handful with recoil b/c of the short barrel. The USP 45 is such a smooth shooting gun, I bet your other half will love it after putting some rounds downrange. Can't say she will like the expierience of the .357 SK as much. . .Peace
