124gr 9mm TAP took care of the varmit that was eating for free out of garden. Picture was taken with a blackberry, varmit was shot with one of the police trade-in P7s. I suppose I could have trapped him, but thats too much like work. It was a 12 yard shot and the meat was worth cooking up as the 124gr turned it inside out.
Score......P7 1, Rabbit 0

Looks yummy! Braise that sucker and make a sauce with pan drippings and whole grain mustard.;)
How far was the shot?

I love the police trade-in P7s.

I prefer my meat in neat little shrink wrapped packages. Anything that involves skinning or formaldehyde brings me back to AP Anatomy from high school.
I had to skin a cat - something a city boy should never have to do.

I love rabbit. Fried with a good thick gravy, potatoes, and some greens. My P7 wouldn't be the weapon of choice for bunnies though. I prefer my old Winchester Model 12 20GA, or one of my many .22s. The police trade in PSPs are a great deal. I'm seriously thinking about getting another one.

I'd be somewhat weary of eating just any rabbit; isn't there a certain time (in the year) when you should avoid them due to some parasite they carry?
Edited for clarification

Back in colonial times they didn't know about this and I'm guessing that many illnesses were caused by the unknown.

With things like tularemia and other nasties I prefer to buy farm raised rabbit these days.

I do love rabbit, the meat is so tender and tastes great when cooked right.
I was surprised to learn that you can survive on rabbit because I guess its too lean or something.
Anyway, cool stuff and good shot.

There's a cat in my neighborhood (insists in sleeping on my truck) that I'd like to help meet a similar fate...

I hear you on that, but there are so many people who love these (can't really find the words to say how I feel about them).

I haven't shot a rabbit in decades. Those little things stink to high heaven when you clean them. To the poster before me I must tell you I love cats too.
I can't eat a whole one by myself.
