Is the LEM trigger legal in CA? I'm selling a USP Compact with LEM trigger and have several California people interested, just want to keep everything above the law.
Thank you.

Yes. It is legal. Some pistols IE USP 45 may have to be purchased in Var 1. But they can be converted to LEM legally.

For selling a gun to CA, ONLY the USPc40 w/LEM is approved. All other USPc must be in V1.

As long as it's on the list, you're fine. My P2000 v2 has the LEM and I was able to acquire it from Connecticut fair and square.

What a legislative nightmare. Here's hoping the Supreme Court ruling does some good out there as well.

Because it wouldn't be nearly as effective as if we were to secede.
And what gloriously enlightened part of the country are you from? If not California, why exactly do you care what we deal with? Troll.

The entire roster scheme is on the top 3 hitlist of the Calguns Foundation. They're working on it. First comes incorporation. Luckily we have a top shelf 2A law firm out here in CA that does some good work on behalf of the community.

no offense but maybe he's sick of reading posts asking about CA related issues rather than searching google or going to a forum specific to CA gun laws.
Or like me it pisses me off. Anything that prohibits citizens from being armed makes me angry.

So skip the threads. I didn't come to HKPRO when I had CA related questions, but some people choose to. Every time I answer them I refer them to a CA specific firearms web site that's more appropriate for these discussions. But if I readily know an answer that took me quite a bit of time to answer for myself, I don't see why I shouldn't just help the guy out.

I'm not happy about it either. But writing off those of us that live here isn't helpful. Nor is saying "**** that liberal ****hole" constructive.
There's a reason a lot of Californian gun owners don't support the NRA. It's because it seems like gun owners from other states aren't interested in helping support us. My donations will go to the Calguns Foundation, thank you very much.

Did they re-up the P7M8? It expires 9/10/2009 now. Could've sworn it was this Sept (2008) last time I looked....?

I think they did to allow the dealers with inventory to sell them. The initial 2008 deadline was why I moved on the P7M8 so quickly.
I'm not sure who else has stock out here, though. As far as I know, the only dealers are Turner's and Retting. Retting's sold out. I guess Turner's convinced them. I wonder what it cost to renew.

Not supporting the NRA is like tossing most of the ability to fight the current state of things right out the window. Fine with me. Plus, if that's the attitude CA residents take...why should we help them out? They elected the idiots who are in charge.
It goes both ways...can't complain you get no help if you don't offer support to the group that has the money and resources to do anything. Hey, they didn't have to file law suits in San Fransisco after the Heller decision but they did.

I'm not going to get into a pissing match with you, Dredd. We'll have to agree to disagree. I just think my money goes a lot farther with a California organization that definitely cares about Californians. I don't think the NRA would have been so quick to file in San Francisco if it weren't such a great place for them to try to get incorporation.
Besides, their thinking is probably that a split between the circuits will get the incorporation issue back up to the SCOTUS quickly. They may even want us to lose.

Same here. At least now I have a year to get the jubilee and one of the "last" 500.

For the record, Dredd, I looked up who is representing the NRA in San Francisco. It's Chuck Michel of Trutanich & Michel - a firm closely associated with the Calguns Foundation. It appears my cynicism was unfounded. T&M is the firm a lot of law-abiding people out here go to when they are wrongfully arrested/charged with a firearm related issue.

I hope something gets moving out there. As always I firmly support the association that the late great Charlton Heston basically saved from going the way of the dinosaur.
It just seems odd to me that a few states seem to think they have to be so restrictive while the rest of the country scratches their heads. Most have lower crime rates as well.
keep fighting! :79:

You won't get an argument from me on that. I agree that the only thing harsh gun control laws achieve is to keep guns from honest citizens.
You may or may not be interested, but KCRW, our local NPR station (one of the best in the country) recently did a show on gun control with particular emphasis on urban environments like Los Angeles.
The guests included Chuck Michel, a guy from the Brady Campaign, and the police chief for LA (two thumbs down). Advance the recording to 7:40. You can listen to it here. (http://www.kcrw.com/media-player/mediaPlayer2.html?type=audio&id=tp080701does_gun_control_hav)

Here in FL we had a guy from the Brady group talking to a Representative about Disney and how they fired the security guard for exercizing his rights to have a gun in his car and refusal to submit to a search of his car. The guy from the Brady group was all like "You have Felons in posession of a concealed permit in FL". He further cited 100 cases he knew of. The rep asked for a list of names and the guy shut up quick. lol
Felons can, under certain circumstances and after a period of so many years and after great expense, have their rights restored in the eyes of the state. It just depends on the case and why you lost the rights.
