It's my understanding that if thats what your waiting for you might be to feeble to pull the trigger by the time it comes out.

Unless there is a huge contract wanting a P30 or P30L in .40, I would be surprised to see it.

I think somewhere on here I remember that HK isn't interested in the .40 or .357sig so much because it's not big over in Europe. Also, there hasn't been a really big contract come up over here in the states that requested a new .40sw gun from them or a quote. I believe that Homeland Security or some federal agency issues USPc in .40sw.

Yeah, I actually feel like HK is catering to the American market less and less..... I know there will be alot of you in the know who can come up with lots of facts and things to prove me wrong. However, here are my cursory observations. HK is just not having big plans on making the P30 or HK45 series in all the configs and calibers that they pushed with their USP line when that first came out. HK has not officially announced that they are making an American civilian version of the HK416 and HK417 even though we have very good knowledge that they are in the process of at least doing the 416 for civilians here in the states. I am just getting this overall feel really that the market in the United States isn't as important or influential as it used to be. Our weak dollar and unhealthy economy is making other countries lose confidence in us and making us play less of a role in their business decisions. Or is it the other way around? Is it because they care about us less and that we have become smaller players in the world that has caused our economy to get weaker? Who knows?

My 2 cents worth:
1. Our weaker position in the world is due to our shipping our manufacturing overseas and then buying back the goods with a flood of US dollars, PLUS importing $700 billion in oil each year producing another flood of US dollars overseas. This has produced a huge amount of US dollars in foreign hands and those dollars are worth less due to the oversupply. So why produce something for the US market when you are going to be paid in more US dollars that are declining in value?
2. If I were a foreign gun manufacturer and saw the strong chance that the US would wind up with an anti-gun liberal Democrat president and a liberal Senate and House - I sure wouldn't invest in new tooling for the US market until I knew how things were going to shake out.

Another P30L question:

If you go to the H&K website the P30L is not listed among the handguns. How do you guys find out about H&K guns that are available if they are not listed on the website?

2 ways. 1) distributor and local dealer mention the shipment is coming in. and 2) call HK and ask.

there's people here who are in contact with HK regularly.

They built the HK45 and the HK45c for the American market. Plus, they're building a plant here in the States; it'll be interesting to see what happens when it's finished.

There's noneed for it. The uspf .40s&w already fills that void. Besides, HK builds to Mil/Leo contracts. Civ end up with a version of whatever pistol Mil/Leo adopts. Hope this helps.
