I just purchased a P2000 after having carried various USP pistols for the last six years.

The slide release on the right side of the pistol is rather loose unless the slide is locked back. If the slide is forward it has alot of play and slightly hangs down toward the handle until a hole in the frame is exposed behind it. Is this normal or do I have an oddball droopy slide release?

Thanks and nice forum.

I was wondering the same thing about mine. I only figured that it's like that because the actual slide release fits into the notches on the right one, and they're not gonna be freakishly tight. Otherwise it'd be a chore to get the slide release back in.

I was wondering about the same thing on this....I want to purchase one but don"t want it to rattle......Can the right side be removed so it is no longer there?

The rattle just drives me nuts on the P2000sk.......

my SK right side release has rattled around since day 1. If I'm trotting down the street, I hear it rattling around inside my C-Tac. Functions 100 percent, but is pretty loose.

Normal. I use a little clear fingernail polish on the tip of the slide stop where it goes through hole in the right side lever to decrease the rattle.

Now I know it's supposed to have some rattle and jiggle with it. Thanks for the responses.

Just wanted to hear about the fingernail polish fix. Did it help? I just got a .357 sk and it has some serious rattle too. Annoying.

Also did you put the polish on the release shaft or on the right side lever? Did you let it harden before re-assembly and how did it affect disassembly again. Many questions as I have never taken notice of polish before and how hard it sets up.

Thanks,

i went to the dealer today to test drive the lem trigger...i'm lefty so a slide release on right side of the gun has always been a great idea to me!

however the very first thing i noticed about the gun the second i picked it up is that the slide relesae on the right side was loose...thought it was odd
