Anybody know of a machinist that can mill out additional rail stops on a HK-91 A-3 collapsible stock so I can adjust the length to fit like a M-4 collapsible ?

Stopping it at interim points might give you too much wiggle. Not sure.

Any machinist should be able to do that. It's just a few notches in the rail.
And while I've never done it, it should work fine. When you're in the intermediate positions, since more of the stock rails will be supported by the receiver slots, it should be stiffer than even when fully extended.

i agree with dave but could tht cause bending when the stocks fully extended

Not unless you're planning to hang from it like in Die Hard. Might bend a bit then....

Or use it as a prybar to lift a car with a flat tire. That would be bad, mmmm hmmm.
I think Ghilliebear has done that to MP5 stocks for his son, not sure about G3 stocks. But I don't think it would weaken it too much.

I've been thinking about this for a long time. If anyone has done it please give us some feedback. It just makes sense to have a couple of optional settings. Given that the rails would still be along the receiver it would seem that the stock would be pretty solid. I train and shoot with full kit often. Vests and plates add enough to make this a favorable course of action. My M4 sports an LMT stock and with it's butt pad I don't even need to open her up any in full kit but the first notch is the sweet spot for me. When using the MP5 it's way too short when closed so open is a must. I know the A2 stock is an option and the B&T is as well. The A2 can be too long in full kit and I like the tight package the retractable can present. I know the B&T had a shorter LOP version of their side folder but I don't see it offered anymore. I believe DSA carried it (maybe Long Mountian Outfitters). I'm working on a 91/G3 clone (SAR8 overstamp) that will be a K when all said and done. I'd be very interested in this option on that especially. Keep the comments rolling. I'm sure we'd all love some pics and points of contact as well. I'll have to go to the civilian server to see them over here but it'll be worth it. Thanks Guys.
I did my own a couple of years ago. I've since traded that rifle, but it was a successful project. Just used a dremel, a small file, and went very slow. If you measure carefully, you should be fine.
