PTR has good recivers. You can use the paddle mag release if you want but needs to be "built" into the reciver.

I believe he asked for the best 91 rec. That would be JLD/PTR in the US.

+1 the PTR reciever is the best HK .308 reciever available. In the VERY near future there will a reliable source to get them without all the previous hassles of tracking one down FYI.

I would go with a PTR receiver. Give PTR or ORF a call. Please don't waste money on one from Century. As far as a paddle release, R.T.G. has them. http://www.robertrtg.com/g3.html

Have a link to one on GB currently for sale? What price would you consider a cheap/fair price?

Last time I checked the PTR receivers were nearly non-existant and somewhat hard to find.

It would be nice to find a constant available source at a fair price.

I couldn't find it. Could you paste the link. I am wanting to make another
7.62x39 weapon and only have one PTR 91 receiver left, and it's for my .308 pistol build.

Thanks

I agree with the PTR receiver. I just picked up a MSG91SS this week and it looks and feels better than my earlier PTR's. May just be that the SS models is sooooooo sweet!

I always thought FMP was the best clone recievers

Well, yeah. They were factory produced on German machinery licensed to Portugal, made by God fearin' Christians, rather than POF by Pakistani towelheads. They were considered the next best thing to genuine Oberndorf metal.

Way before the American clone market emerged.

When FMP closed down their factory in Portugal, that very same German machinery was sold to JLD in Ct where today PTR 91 makes those very same receivers. GARY N4KVE

Well it just sounds silly when you say it like that!

Was JD not an FMP employee/manager?
