Is it OK to run .45Super in the USP and USPc? I can't remember where, but I thought I either heard this a while back or read it, and it just popped in my head, so I figured I would come to the authority on it!

I use them in my USP and my HK45 without any problems. I would NOT use them in the Compact of either gun because of the smaller spring and lighter slide. It will put too much wear and tear on the
compacts.
They are a hoot to shoot!!

Hmm, I have a USPc .45, I was thinking about buying a box or two of .45 Super not to shoot, but to carry on the rare occasion I head into the woods or go to the zoo. Will this void the HK Warranty?

Yes it will void the warranty.

It should hold up ok, but if the recoil spring/s are older, you might want to replace them.

Cool, I just want a box in case of the outside chance I need a deep penetrating/hard hitting .45 to knock down a hard charging 4 legged threat.

Might want to rethink that - the compact is just too small to function correctly with that much recoil energy in the .45Super.

I know, because it is especially snappy in a fullsize USP45t - I have fired about 200 rounds through mine, and on top of that, it's not very accurate. I've found that the snappy recoil seems to do strange things to POA and POI, such that you will hit INconsistently low and to the left, and occasionally, high and to the right. I have been shooting handguns for many years, and can group 230gr hardball well enough to know it's not me.

The Navy SpecWar stuff that I acquired years ago still sits in my gunroom, the remaining 400-500 rounds that I have left are not mostly a curious addition to my ammo stores, as I have no reason to shoot the remaining ammo. It's kind of cool to see the Navy Seal emblem on the boxes and know that it was built for the Mk23, but has limited utility to my recreational shooting.

I would never shoot it in my USP45c - not even as a test to see if it would work.

I posted a few years ago about this. The 45 Super (http://www.reloadersnest.com/detail_handgun.asp?CaliberID=33&BulletWeight=185&LoadID=500)has the same length and dimensions as the 45 ACP, but a thicker brass case (http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=217776&t=11082005) to withstand the higher pressures. Its also has a little more power than a 45 ACP, the power you'd think the 45 reputation represents. A hotter +P. The 45 super seems to mentally get mixed in with 458 Socom or 450 Bushmaster power. Here's how I keep track of the hot 45's

45acp+P/230gr = 850fps (http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=155658)
45super/230gr = 1100fps (http://www.midwayusa.com/browse/BrowseProducts.aspx?t=82579&pageNum=0&tabId=3&categoryId=10572&categoryString=653***691***)
45LC/240 = 725fps (http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=141558)
458socom/400gr = 1600fps (http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=383454&t=11082005)
450 Bushmaster = 2200fps
460S&W = 2600fps

45-70 (400gr) = 1250fps (http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=860270&t=11082005)

Rumor has it the 16lb springs work a little better if you plan on only running 45 Super thru you USP 45F. Here's link to buy them:
