Hey all, I'm looking for a tactical light made by HK for the HK45c.. cant seem to find it anywhere. I went to a shop and because the trigger guard is too long the surefire, and quite a few other would not fit. I only want a light - lasers are for sharks.. Thanks

If you run a search there is alot of discussion on the HK45c and tac. lights.

I asked the same question a while back and never really got any true answers either. The TRL ones can be "made" to fit by moving a part, but outside of that, not sure what really works or not. I use the HK45c for CCW so I don't keep a light on it. However, have the hK45 next to my bed with a full light and laser attached, works great.

I too have the full size next to my bed but i've been thinking of getting rid of it because I feel that it was sold to me as new but I think it was used.. which brings up another question: Is there some database I can check to see if I was the first person that gun was registered to?
Thanks for the replies - I found the x2 made for the springfield subcompact but it only puts out 40 lumens which = crap.

I agree..I think the HK45c serves best as a concealed carry while the HK45 works best for a home defense or duty pistol open carried.
I would consider getting the HK45 and a surefire x300 tactical light for home use and use your HK45c for concealed use or in your vehicle if you don't have a firearms license. Though I suspect most on this forum do.

I have the Glock GTL21 which is laser/light but as I mentioned earlier I think I was sold the full size as used.. not new like the guy had told me, but since I'm a newb I did'nt know how to check if it was used or not.
What I'm thinking of doing is getting rid of the full size and keeping the compact for home, and getting a (wait for it) springfield xd40 subcompact since I have small hands AND it is much more comfortable and concealable with an IWB holster: me = 140 lbs at 5' 7"
Again thanks for the replies and any suggestions are welcome.

What makes you think the HK45 was used?

I find the 45c to actually be a great size for HD. It's got the extended 10 round mags in it at night and can slide a light onto it easily. No difference in it vs. the full size with that setup other than 1/2" more barrel length.

Two things: The sights have some chipping on them indicating that they were replaced with other ones then back to the standard ones. 2) The slide release lever has the bronzish color to it. That's all.

My guess is your HK45 full size is, in fact, new. The bronze color is common with the slide catch levers as most here will know, and while I'm not so sure about the 'chipping' on the sights, there is probably at least a 60 / 40 chance it came that way. H&K builds service pistols, not 'ikons' and after some use your pistol will...or should...have a few worn spots and maybe even a scratch or two...adds character. Unless the pistol just did not fit me, I would keep it bacause chances are you will lose money and in a few months, probably regret the sale as well. JMO

I have decided that I'd rather not know... the dealer says it is new and though it does not have the "DE" trailing the serial # on the slide, as do all of the "new" ones (my compact bares the "DE" too) I saw at the last gun show, I have put roughly 300 rounds through it and have successfully courted with it.
Sorry for diverging from the topic.
Thanks though.
