I have a USP full size tacticl in .40 and a USP compact stainless in 9mm and I am debating on weather to buy a USP compact in .40 or a P2000 in .40? I like the USP because it is a proven design but I also like the grip o the P2000 a lot as well. I usually carry C&L with my USP but was considering the LEM on the P2000. I'm just not sure which way to go....any help?

I prefer the P2000. The grip just feels better to me then the USPc. I would go with the SA/DA set up but that is because I have never been able to shoot the LEM trigger very well. Either way you will end up with a great gun.

you already have 2 usp's so either go for the tri-fecta or expand your collection. either way you cant go wrong. personally id stick with the usp this way all weapons controls are the same.

For me, I prefer the p2000 bc it feels better in my hand. Definitely the p2000 platform, but 9mm because I dont like the 40sw to begin with.
I have owned three USPs and eventually gotten rid af all of them, giving the last one to my son, who loves it (45f) Neither the full size nor the compact works well for me. Excellent guns, but just not for me. The P2000LEM is a whole different matter however, and I like mine in 9mm so much I am going to get a second as a backup in case it goes down. So it 'depends'...if the USP works for you I see no need to learn a different gun...if not, give the P2000 a try...it certainly brought me back to H&K pistols.

My 9mm 2000 LEM is my favorite pistol. The 2000 in .40 has healthy recoil.

I had the same decision and chose the P2K. It is the most comfortable gun to carry I have.

Thats what made me choose the USPc for ccw. I knew eventually I'd be carrying the USPf on duty, so all the training I do with one carries right over to my other gun...

I didn't think about them having mostly the same internals, and I'm sure that the P2000 is also built like a rock. I think I am going to go with the P2000 with the LEM trigger to try it out. I figue I'll stick with 9mm though and be able to use all the hi-cap mags that I already have for my USPc in 9mm. Also looking at the dimensions it seems that the P2000 is not quite as tall and a bit shorter as well. Hey, every bit helps when carring right. Thanks, for all the input.

USPC .40 is a robust design. Hope this helps your decision.

I know, that is what I usually carry in 9mm. I love my USPs but feel like I need to try something different especially from all the good feedback about the P2000. I figure if I really don't like it (doubt it) I can trade it or sell it and pick up another USP.

Size wise they're pretty much equal. The difference in height is 4 hundredths of an inch; it's almost unnoticable. Barrel length of the P2000 is slightly longer. The slide of the P2000 is slimmer, since it tapers upward, which is noticable. If I were going to choose one over the other, it would be the USPc, due to the option of being able to carry it cocked-and-locked. Since you prefer the LEM it's not an issue. The P2000 is definitely a thoughtful choice.

Yeah, I do like to carry C&L but, my biggest concern between the two is the difference in the DA/SA USP trigger and the LEM trigger. I have heard both good and bad about the LEM. I know that it is subjective so I guess I have to get a hold of one and put some rounds down range.
