View Full Version : HK45 & P30 Production - Coming to the U.S.?
Before the release of these handguns there was speculation as to whether their production would eventually shift to the U.S. Are all versions still German made and if so will that continue into the foreseeable future?

At this point, they are all made in Germany. In the future, the HK416/MR223 HK45 and HK45c will be made at wilcox. I haven't heard about anything about the P30 being made states side. When will all this happen is the big question though...
Good to know. Low serials don't mean much to me but I like the idea of a German made German handgun. I plan to acquire one of each but funds are going elsewhere for the time being and I'd hate to see that window of opportunity close.

10X, I wouldn't worry too much about not being able to get a German made HK45 or P30. You can still find P9's and other HK firearms so finding the before mentioned shouldn't be impossible.

You will have no problems finding a German P30 because P30 production is going to remain in Germany. Most likely due to the large military/police contracts in Europe.

Guess I better pick up an HK45C soon. I want a German pistol made in germany. Unless some how they can duplicate the exact same quality in the US? Even still I like the side of my pistol saying made in Germany...just sounds better when the pistol itself is supposed to be German.
However I can see why they would want a stateside factory producing the Hk416 to reduce costs and increase production numbers for the military.

I wonder if HK will mandate Wilcox to use HK machining equipment for the fabrication of the HK45 and HK45c to keep tolerances equal?
