I'm 25 and the HK45 is my first pistol ever. Now I've shot plenty of other pistols from family and friends, but never owned one until recently. I always knew I wanted an HK if I was getting a pistol for defensive purposes. Always liked Kimber 1911s, but I would not trust a 1911 day in an out.
Anyway I am looking for my 2nd HK pistol. I have applied for a Firearms license and should have it in the mail within a month or so. I want something to Conceal Carry in a In the Waist Band holster or a tactical jacket pocket when it gets colder.
I love full length barrells and have never been thrilled about compact pistols, mainly because I like a longer barrel for increased accuracy.
The question is, should I get another HK45 or just go with the HK45c for concealed carry.
I need atleast one pistol for home defense and one for Carry when I'm away from home.
Thanks for the input.
Go with the compact for carry. I'm working on my CCW as well, and for me anyway it would be hard to conceal a full size HK45. This USPc is going to be hard enough, maybe if it got cool enough for a jacket once in a while here in FL.
Good luck with your decision

I have a HK45 and it's a good size gun. In the winter I could CCW it and probably will seeing as I ordered a milt sparks versa max 2 for it. BUT I also ordered a VM2 for the HK45c too. There will be days the full size will not be practical for the type of outfit you have on.

I have to go with the old saying "Variety is the spice of life." In my humble opinion your pistol collection is not big enough to have duplicates yet. But I do love my HK45!

I actually carry a full sized Glock 22 concealed, and I have a buddy that uses a compact Glock 23 as his house gun. What I'm trying to say here is that either gun will work for either roll. Still, why not give yourself a little versatility? The Compact is going to be easier to conceal, and there's a good chance that getting proficient with it will increase your ability to use the full size. I say get the HK45C as a secondary and have the option of using whichever proves to be more appropriate for a given task.
Between the 2 choices I would pick the compact. I would personally recommend, this being your second handgun to buy something alittle different. Possibly that P30 on your wishlist or maybe a P7. I agree with detroit25. Get something alittle different.

UTVOL06, I would go with the .45 compact. I had one and I loved it but I sold it so I could get me a PTR. I also love Kimbers. I have a Custom TLE/R caliber .45 of course. I have replaced my .45 compact also with a MK23. I agree that you should go with variety. I just started building my collection and when I buy one Im already thinking of what else to add to my collection. Diversify my friend!!

Thanks everyone for the input!!!...looks like I'll be getting the HK45C this weekend. After that I believe the P30L will probably be on my list.
