Those of you who have converted your USP to match trigger via the kit: what is the physical difference between the hammer with the "S" on it and the standard hammer? Similarly, is there any difference in the trigger itself other than the tapped hole for the overtravel screw?

Really? No one has done this and looked at the difference in hammers?

I don't have any HK w/ the reg USP trigger but I did swap out the trigger from by compact to one from a Match Kit. In the Compact besides the lack of 'bobbing' (which I love in the Compact) ~ the Match Trigger appears to be better machined. It certainly shoots better. I didn't recall much differenence in the sear. My Compact has become a sweet shootin' Carry. YMMV
PS- If I had a reg USP ~ the first thing I would do is install the Match Trigger Kit. .02

The reason I ask the question is that for $125+, the match trigger kit appears to be nothing more than a couple springs, a trigger with a stop screw, and a different hammer...but I can't tell how the hammers differ and where the advantage would be.
It would seem fairly simply to do a detailed polish job on the existing hardware, buy a setscrew, and drill/tap the standard trigger. The springs could be obtained by themselves if need be.

Try sending a PM to Big Bore. He can probably tell you everything you want to know about the match kit. . . and he's a pretty nice guy to boot. :)

Do you mean the hammer and not the trigger? You had to do modification to the trigger to install in a compact.
