I wouldn't recommend you try this at home (or the range). After putting a few rounds down range through my HK45 and Mark 23 pistols, I asked my brother if he wanted to give them a go. Of course his response was a "Hell Yes". So I gave him the two pistols and put all the mags for both weapons on his booth table ;). My HK45 mags are numbered and my Mark 23 mags are not. First he shot the Mark 23 and did extremely well. 10rds just about on top of one another. When he went to eject the mag I heard an, "Oh S**t". I asked what was wrong and saw him looking at both types of mags. He noticed the number on the mag and realized that he loaded the HK45 mag into the Mark 23. It went off without a hitch. I took the empty HK45 mag and slapped it into the Mark 23. Sure enough it would seat. We didn't dare plan to test the "improvised theory" any further and put the proper mags with the proper weapons. Making the best of it, I just looked at him and said, "I guess, in a pinch........."
