My brother called me yesterday and said a guy at work is trying to sell a H&K .45 tactical with everything it comes with from the original purchase for $800.00 US. He says it looks in great shape. Is this a reasonable price or a really good deal? Need some help here, I may go get it.

They go for at least $950.00 in my area used. I would say go for it.

$800 is a great price in proper condition. That is what I paid for mine nearly 2 years ago. The chic is Kate Beckinsale (I think I spelled it right).

hmm... cool, now I know too. I would have said 800 woulda been too much. I would have figured like 700-750

I don't think it is a steal, but I would consider it a fair price if it is in good condition.

Depends on the case (hard plastic or soft tactical), how many mags (two or three), and are they 10 or 12 rounders. Also the color of the frame could make a difference to some. Either way it is a fair deal.

Thanks for the information folks. How does $700.00 grab yah. 2 10 rnd. mag's adjustable sight on rear original paperwork, bag, book, cleaning kit, o-rings. I couldn't believe the condition of the firearm. I don't think they've fired it more than a few times. I am a little concerned about the date code though. Can any of you answer these questions.
1) How do the letters for date codes translate to manufacture dates in the H&K world?
2) What are the best night sights for this firearm?
3) Where or what type flash suppressor could be added to the firearm to cover and protect the threaded muzzle?
I hear H&K forum is the answer room.

$700 is a good deal, especially since you got the tactical range bag, as for your ?'s:
1) http://www.hkpro.com/symbols.htm
2) any of the big manufacturers, mepro, novak, trijicon, but you have to becareful if you are going to suppress the pistol. If so you need tall night sites (Novaks and mepro I think makes them) to see over the can, and I don't recall any adjustables (maybe Mepro).
3) Anything threaded M16x1 LH. There is a thread protector made by HK. Mark at TROS-USA also makes a really nice thread protector. Flash hiders are available from Auto-burst.net and maybe Larry at CCF has some left. I am sure there are others but those are the two that come to mind.

Sniper 1,
Thanks for your info. I look forward to finding these last items. Hopefully at the show in Greensboro this weekend. I look forward to not only this, but future H&K product purchases. Have been very pleased with the quality so far.
Thanks again for the lead.
Ordered from auto-burst. Great leads. thanks again.

I do not see the HK45 tactical on the HK website. What makes it different from the regular HK45?
Please forgive my ignorance, I just started looking at HK's.

The HK45 Tac is not out yet. They're talking about the USP Tac. The differences between standard USP and Tactical models is a longer threaded barrel with o-ring, match trigger, taller adjustable sights and the all important Tactical marking on the slide.
The mags also have a larger floorplate than standard USP mags but they are fully interchangeable with standard mags.

Thanks, I was a little lost. I thought that might be the situation.
