Mahovsky's Refinished P7 - Lots of Pictures

So about 18 months ago I bought a heavily used C-grade P7. The Grade Cs are the bottom of the barrel. It had some pitting, plenty of wear marks, but worked great. I put it through two classes,thousands of rounds of ammo, and a year of daily carry. It started to really look bad so 60 days ago I sent it off (along with a check for $154) to Mahovsky's to get refinished. Today I got a FedEx box in the mail and this is what was inside:

You'd never believe it was the same gun that I sent in. Only one little problem........ they installed the front sight backwards!

They aren't very good at communicating. Emails and phone calls generally go unanswered. If you can deal with that then just box up your gun with instructions and a check and send it in. Maybe add a note to please not install your front sight backwards.

Nice P7 AroundLSU, I know this is going to sound like a stupid question but what finish do they call the one they did on your P7? Congrats on the gun, goes good with the Milt Sparks Holster.

The P7 looks great in Metalife, they did a wonderful job! Since Tripp stopped doing his CobraChrome, all my Colt 1911's and future HK are going to Metaloy (http://www.originalmetaloy.com/)

Black finish Im very interested in Melonite (http://www.drakesgunworks.com/melonite.htm), since IonBond does not do a good job resisting rust.

With that mag loaded wrong and the sights backward...careful you don't shot yourself.

What was the turn around time? I waited 3 months for Ford's to do the below one in black nickel....they sent it back in bright white nickel .....waited another 3 months for them to correct the problem. I wont use them again. I have used them before and they shipped the gun back to the wrong address. Somebody is asleep at the switch down there. Still waiting on a refund for the shipping I paid to get the gun sent back to them for correction.

They said it would take 30 days. Ended up taking 60. I sent them an email about the backwards sight but never heard back. Believe it or not, I'm actually shooting faster now with the sight reversed. 1.35 seconds out of a concealed holster is my record so far. Oh well...

Sux they put your front sight on backwards...otherwise, your P7 looks like the '88 P7M8 Tripp's did for me years ago...

Very nice. My P7's chrome is looking pretty rough after 10 years. It may be time for a touch-up!
