Anyone use a full size HK45 for CCW? If so what holster do you use?
I'm thinking maybe in the winter sometimes.

It works in the winter for me.
I wear a large leather coat with a Mernickle Paddle Holster.
I have started to order holsters from the well knowns to do my own comparison.
Bulman ordered for P30 and P30L
HBE will be ordering for HK45C and maybe HK45
Milt sparks will be ordering for P7M8
Rosen or Del Fatti are also on my list, I have not decided for what yet.

I have a milt sparks versa max 2 on the way for my HK45. I'll be able to tell you how it works in December when I get it. I have a comp tac padle holster for it and it works well with a hoodie or jacket.

I'm thinking of going with Kydex personally.
I just don't know if I want a Comp-Tac, a Raven Concealment, or something else.
My p30 has been relagated to a range only piece now that I have my G19 for carry. I kind of want to carry the HK45 on occation.
I also don't know if IWB or OWB is better. IWB obviously concealing more easily, but I dunno...something about OWB is nice.

I can't wait 'til the winter months come so I can start carrying without any real fear of printing! Granted, I only have a P2000, but my shirts are not that conducive to CCW. (I wear a lot of shirts that stop just a little past the belt) Basically means I can't bend over... like...ever.

Looks like I'll be ordering a raven phantom LC for use as an OWB holster seeing as comp tac won't make holsters for weapon mounted lights.

I'd like to try a Raven also...think I'll order 2. One for my G19 to use OWB with the pancake attachment, and one for my HK45 with the IWB attachments.
The only question is...will I carry in single action with safety on or double action with safety off...how do you guys carry your HK45?

I carry cocked and locked most of the time.

Is there any risk in the holster wiping off the safety?
I notice that Raven asks if it will be C&L or not so I assume they make it fitted.

Not with the Mernickle holster.

The Mernickle holster looks like a well thought out system. I like how the safety lever can not be easily disengaged while in the holster.

I think Raven Concealment molds the kydex over the safety so that it can't move when holstering or on the draw. They ask if it is single action or double action so I'm guessing this is why.
Still running posibilities through my head as to what I really wanna do. Do I really want to try carrying it or just stick to my G19...Can't buy anything else atm so HK45c is no go lol

Excellent. Also a quick question, what attachment/accessories did you get for it if any and how close does it ride to your body?
If it rides close enough I think I can pull off concealing it with the proper clothing. Might just be worth it. I know my G19 will disappear with it.

It comes standard with the OWB hard loops. I've never tried them. I ordered the paddle attachment and was not impressed. I then ordered the IWB hard clips and love them. With the IWB clips, the HK45 doesn't print under an Oxford or a looser T-shirt. It rides very, very close to the body when IWB, but I wasn't satisfied with it with the paddle attachment. It just stuck out strangely.
The holster does cover the safety switch completely, btw. I've taken to keeping it in Condition 1 because of my confidence in the holster. I had originally planned on keeping it hammer down, safety on.
I've been wearing it around the house this week because the entire building is being heavily renovated. We've had a ton of strange contractors come and go and we've had to leave our front doors open for painting.

Looser T-Shirt...you mean something that fits like this? That's me with my P30 but I do not carry it any longer. I use a G19 for various reasons.

i carry mine in a comp-tac c-tac and it works great as long as i have a loose shirt it doesn't print and i am a small guy. Also i just ordered a raven concealment holster so i can carry with my tlr-1 light attached at night. I am very happy with how it carries so far.

Sorry it took so long, Dredd. We had a family medical emergency and I've been a bit preoccupied.
Raven Concealment for my HK45f with the IWB hard clips. I highly recommend the holster. Great product and company.

This is a Benchmade 710D2 with a 4" blade for size comparison. That knife is my EDC.. I wish I could say the same for the HK45.

Glad I could help.
What's the verdict on those Heinie Straight 8s you bought? I'm thinking about sending my slide into ToolTech in a few weeks to get the sights drilled because I'm concerned about a shift in the point of aim/impact.

Well, I liked them on the P30 and didn't buy them for the 45. I sold the P30 to a guy I work with cause he wanted a new 9mm and I wanted a 1911. So I bought myself a Dan Wesson Commander Bobtail. I didn't carry the P30 and really I think if someone can get good use out of it they should take it off my hands.
The HK45 is the only gun I will never get rid of, it's too good. I'm just waiting for some Trijicon sights so I can have yellow rear and green front. I love that combo on the 1911. :83:

There was nothing wrong with it to begin with. There is however something wrong with my eyes so the gun is more accurate than I am. :20000000:

Does the Revo holster fit in close to your side?
+1 If you can take some pics of you wearing the holster.

Not only that they ask you which position you want the lever in and mold the holster specifically for that. For me its locked and cocked.

Did you have to special order that Raven holster? I didn't see the HK 45 as an option on their website. Thanks...

No... it's definitely on their order page. Just go to their Phantom Modular Holsters and pick Heckler & Koch. It's actually the first model listed IIRC.
