I use a MagLula Uplula on my HK45 and I've been using it on my P7M8, but the tongue on the loader is slightly too wide for the lips on the P7M8 mags. I think I'm going to end up wearing them if I keep using the Uplula on it.
Does anyone have a good mag loader that works well for P7M8 mags?

Well sure. Here's the one made by E and L Manufacturing, it even has the HK Logo on it.

Ignore the "vented vs. nonvented" blurb at the top, it's on the wrong page. The loader is shown at the bottom of the page for $15. I have one, it works great for M8s and M13s too. The nylon pouch for $5 works well too.
Or you can get them from some other online sales places for about 2x as much money. :)

I have been meaning to get one for awhile, the thumb deserves it after 10000 plus rounds.

I too am mildly concerned about the tongue of the UPLULA possibly damaging or spreading the feed lips of my M8 magazines. So I ordered one of the described E&L loaders. It arrived today.
Decent accessory, works as advertised. BUT... it has a flaw common among "fixed" loaders; once the round has been partially inserted under the feed lips, the device must be moved up out of the way before the cartridge can be fully seated to the rear of the magazine; calling for a two-step motion for each cartridge.
A minor annoyance, and some will say picking of nits. Perhaps.
My advice; if you already have and use an UPLULA, save your $27 (delivered price of the E&L product) and either be careful or thin the tongue of the UPLULA sufficiently the clear the feed lips. The UPLULA looks to be relatively easy to dis-assemble/reassemble, but with the proper bit you can thin that tongue down with a Moto-Tool without taking the device apart.
I'm going to keep this E&L gadget for a "spare", but it won't see much, if any, use. That UPLULA is the cat's a$$...

How hard do you think it would be to do the same thing with sandpaper? I don't have a Dremel.
I wonder if I could somehow take it apart and rub it on a DMT stone.

It would take quite a while, and some really coarse grit paper (100 or larger); plus, you'd run the risk of gooning up the sides of the device.
Same deal with a stone; unless it was a real coarse one, you'd be there all week before removing enough metal to notice.
The UPLULA is held together via roll pins. If you have the proper punches, taking it apart would be a snap. The trick is the two springs employed in the gadget. I have a feeling that they are really odd-shaped, and held in place by the pins; IOW, it might be damned near impossible to get them back together properly.
I'm going to get another UPLULA; when I do, I plan to use my old one as a lab rat... :D

It's really not an extra motion, they're done simultaneously. At the same time the bullet is being pushed into the magazine, the loader is released upward.
Actually, my favorite loader of all time (well, besides the HK MP5 loader) is the cheapie one that came with my Ruger P85 I bought 100 years ago. It's a folded up piece of sheet metal with a tab on the back. It couldn't be any simpler or more indestructible.
The UPLULAs are pretty cool, but you still have an extra motion compared to the fixed ones, it's just two actions on the loader (squeeze and depress) and one for the bullet.
I wish mags were like grease guns so you could pull a rod through the bottom, drop the bullets in, then let the rod pop back into place. :)

Guess I'm not coordinated enough, then...;)
