Why no Factory USP Match Barrels?

Can anyone tell me why HK sells the USP Match weights, but will not sell the barrels? I want to build a USP Match .45 but I really do not want to use a none factory barrel.

You used to be able to order the .45 match barrel. I could never get a 9mm match barrel though.

Could you just use a USP Tactical barrel? I know it is longer, and I would imagine that the O-ring is in the same spot. Then you could remove the match weights and attach a suppressor if you wanted to. Or would the extra length of the Tactical barrel interfere with the match weights?

I thought they didn't make the weights anymore. I tried in the past to find one with no luck, whom should I contact?

You can use a Tactical barrel but you still need a barrel extension to make it longer. If you don't the muzzle blast may put too much down force on the weights and over time cause your frame to crack. Turning the Tac into a Match with a barrel extension is what I did years ago to make a Poor Boy's Match. I'm glad I did not spend more money than I did because I do not care for the extra 3/4 pound weights on the end of the frame at all.
The weights are still being made as is the Match, only not imported into the US by HK-USA. Other sources, such as Robert Johnson, imported a batch of weights a few months ago and they sold like hot-cakes for $250 each. Will he do more? Have to ask him.

I find that interesting BB. Does anyone know if the Match is being imported into Canada? If not how does one contact this fellow for a weight?

You can get the match weight from him in Canada... but good luck getting the barrel!

Just received an email from Adam at hkparts.net, he said they should have some factory barrel weights in about 3 weeks.

I am not up on what HK exports to Canada but I am under the vague impression that the Match is still available there. Whether or not it is imported to Canada is pretty much a HK-Canadian decision or a decision between the main Canadian HK importer and HK Germany.

I bought my 6.02" barrel from Jarvis and it's awesome. Came in like 2 weeks, IIRC, and shoots better than I can.
