View Full Version : USPc and the microchip
Anybody ever find out exactly what this is for? Did my first teardown and noticed my USPc9 has the microchip. It is visible after removing the lanyard loop block and hammer spring.
Actually wish I could somehow "read" what info it has on it!

The chip contains the following data. Your girlfriend's name, phone number, and vital stats; so be careful as to who handles your gun!

It's nothing. All this is going to do is bring out the paranoid people that think the government is after all of our guns. Relax! Their busy bailing out stupid real estate, savings and loan companies and banks.

Just in case, if you dont want to google the topic yourself: http://www.defensivecarry.com/vbulletin/concealed-carry-guns/50573-found-microchip-my-hk-usp-compact.html
While I was typing this I called HK in Ashburn. Guy told me they have never heard of the chip falling out. Asked if I was TSA or LEO told him I was a civi so there was nothing to worry about with it. Said its blank unless I used a transponder to activate it. They come in Gov ordered guns but apparently some civilians end up with Gov guns. He told me if I wanted to I could send it in to have it reattached and activated. Since I dont care about my round count and everything. He said just to toss it in my HK box and not worry about it.

I think it is defective ~ weren't they supposed to attach it on the slide so it scans the barcode on each individual bullet as it passes. It will be then reported back to Gov't Officials. You will be responsible for every bit or fragment that leaves the barrel. This includes one that miss that you will be charged for littering. I believe this is already enacted in Kommiefornia as a part of their gun control laws.

Its an RF id tag. Helps H&K trak there products. Kinda like a bar code but insted of only being scaned once at the store RF id tags can be scaned wherever theres a reader. I hope thats not what it is.

It IS an RFID chip. Everyone should research them and what their capabilities are & how they are being implemented into society with little input from consumers as opposed to being silly.
Remove it and discard it.

Before this version of this topic gets out of hand (and it always does) I'm locking this thread.
There are at least three other versions of this thread that you can use the Search Function to read thru.
As HK Inc said, the chip is only meant for LE, and Govt sales. The chip is not active, it is passive, and has to be activated in order to be read.
Sometimes with overruns they end up in civilian hands.
