Going to pick it up tommorow, its in good shape inside and out only a few hundred rounds fired through it. Want to know the best thing? I scored it for $800 with 4 mags :) Cant wait to take it out this weekend and see what all the hype is about.
How do you think I did?

Yeah I couldn't pass it up, so I put money down on it so they would hold it for me. More of a curiosity thing I guess since I have read so much about it. I have never really spent more than $500 for a handgun but I keep telling myself its an investment!

You're sure it's a P7M8 and not a P7PSP, yes?
If it's truly a P7M8, then that's a smokin' deal.

Yep, that was the first thing I thought of. Luckily I did a little research and figured out the easiest way for me to tell was the magazine release is by the trigger guard and not the heel. I confirmed this when I looked at it. I am quite excited.
Thanks

If you decide it's not for you it will be very easy to resell and make back considerably more than you invested in it.

Let me know if you don't care for it - I'd be happy to give you your money back! Wow, great deal! Was it a gun shop? Pawn shop? Estate sale? Show? I'm always looking for these little "investments" and you are sure to be a happy camper with that deal! I found one in a gun store last week for $1000 marked as a P7M8. I didn't even have to ask to have it taken out of the case to see it was a P7. Buyer beware!

Well I just got home, and I am very very excited. Its a non warning code m8 Serial number 16-1186XX As you can see it was carried a little and the date code is KF, the finish is still good but it has holster wear. The pics dont do it justice, but that may be because my batteries died just as I snapped the last 2. It come with 2 holsters a galco and a custom made one as well as 5 mags and the original box with brush etc. I purchased it from a woman, it was her late husbands. Due to my age I never thought I would be able to get one of these for at least 2 more years (im only 19.....) but I got lucky and got a great deal.
Here are the pictures:

I am going to take it out Saturday when I go grouse hunting and run a few mags through it. I cant wait.
Cheers.

Well done! When I was your age, I was buying all kinds of Bulgarian and Hungarian assault AK-47s. All gone now. Take care of that little gem and it will take care of you, and your family, when you get to that part of life. I would say you've got at least $500 equity in that deal already. Congrats!!

P7s aren't an investment, they're a shooting experience. To own one is to shoot one. You just can't help it. I finally picked up a P7PSP for range use just so I could alternate between it and my P7M8. I now carry the PSP as well, that is when I'm not carrying my USPf 9mm, or any one of several pistols I've come to feel comfortable shooting. The P7 single stacks sure do pack nice.

Agreed. And while it not be a very good investment as far as capital gains are concerned, they are fairly stable. It's about like having money in a bank savings account in that it will get maybe .75-1% per year, but it sure is a lot more fun that looking at a bank statment. :D Especially at the price he paid. That was a fantastic deal.
Congrats on the find!!
I shot mine last week and it was NICE!!! Very accurate gun!

Say it isn't so! You're not going to turn around and sell this amazing piece of German engineering, are you? Please tell me this isn't the same P7M8 listed in the For Sale/Trade threads. Trust me, this falls into one of those, "Damn, I wish I had not sold that thing" categories. Ah youth - wasted on the young.

Take it to the range one more time before you ditch it. Are you putting the death grip on the squeeze cocker? It takes a moderate amount of force to squeeze it, but very little to keep it squeezed.
You'll be very sorry you let that go. Especially at that price.

Yeah I put it for sale, at a higher price then its probably worth.....its one of those guns that you dont want to get rid of but unless I get use to it I wont shoot it. I am going to take it out again and run a few hundred more rounds through it and see if I can get used to it. I am a 1911 guy so the squeeze thing is ackward. I think the death grip thing might be my problem.
Thanks for all your guys help.

Yeah, you overshot it by @ $200.
I guess that's what happens when we tell someone they got such a steal on something. Oh well, can't blame you for wanting to make a quick buck.
