I just purchased a used MK23 that I noticed the outside of the barrel has some worn off paint / finish on the barrel about 1/3 of the way down from the muzzle. Any idea why and can this be refinished or should it be refinished?
Also along the side of the ejection area there is what appears to be drag marks from the extractor that has removed the finish there. Is the ejector to tight for the area?
Thanks
Todd

AFAIK, this is completely normal. I have the exact same wear on my USP Tactical.

That's where the barrel locks up to the slide. I would worry if it wasn't there. If you refinish it, it will just show up again after use.

Completely normal, and nothing to worry about.

Thank you all. Now what about Barrel wear. When do you know if a used guns barrel needs to be replaced. Or is worn out?
Are there measurements that we could do on the inside to determine this?
Thanks
