Hey all,
I am new to the forum and glad to be able to post. I am the proud owner of a HK P30, Glock 19, and a German Sig Pro 2022. I was able to purchase an HK P30 last week from CDNN. Thanks, for the Marshall recommendation, he was awesome.
So I bought 200 rounds of Blazer Brass 115 grain.(won't do that again) headed over to the range with my Sig Pro and P30 (both cleaned from factory preservative). On the last round every time the P30 had a FTE the last casing. It was halfway stuck but easy to manually remove. I have the new mags that came with the gun and 2 other new mags I bought.
I shot the Sig Pro next and I never had an FTE, but on the last round most every time also with four new mags, the slide would fail to lock back. I am convinced that it was the crappy ammo, as I have read multiple complaints about blazer brass. I would like to know what you all think. I want the P30 to be my main carry gun but am a little hesitant. Now the good thing though, was that both guns functioned flawlessly with 124 +p Speer Gold Dot ammo.
Lastly , I went the next day to try different ammo (Speer Lawman 115 gr.) 250 rounds functioned flawlessly through P30 and Sig Pro and I had none of the problems I had with the Blazer brass. Please tell me that it is the blazer stuff. Aren't Blazer and Lawman and Gold Dot all made by CCI? Why would there be such difference? +p and pressure or 124 grain vs. 115 grain? Why did the P30 FTE and the Pro slide Fail to lock back? Any suggestions or recommendations would help. Please be easy this is my very first post... Thanks all.

You're suspicion is probably dead on.. Until the P30 has a chance to loosen up, stick with the higher powered ammo. Most don't require a break-in, but it appears that yours might. Couple hundred more rounds and I bet it eats anything.

First, welcome to the P30 club.
Per your request, I'll tell you that your FTEs were probably a "Blazer stuff" issue. I have experienced feeding/ejection problems in some guns when I used Blazer ammo. Not always, but sometimes.
My P30 did not like the Remington/UMC range ammo my range uses. I was horrified by the number of FTEs I experienced during my first trip to the range with my P30. This was mainly with only one of my two magazines. I took the magazine apart, cleaned and very lightly CLP-ed it, and stretched the spring just a little.
Next trip, Federal American Eagle and no problems. Same with WWB.
Hornady TAP, Remington GS, Gold Dots? No problems. My P30 stacks 124 gr. Gold Dots (non +P) into one neat little hole, so that's what I run.
My hunch is it's an ammo issue. Cheaper ammo tends to be dirtier and on the lower end of the velocity/pressure scale. Because the hotter stuff worked for you, I think you found your answer. Do know that once your P30 wears in, you MAY fnd that it will eventually digest everything you feed it just fine. Mine did/does.
Shoot safe.

Thanks for your story. I will continue to feed quality ammo as you listed, and am confident this gun is one of the best around.

Welcome to the site! Im pretty new myself and there is endless info from these guys. Just thought id let you know I say +1 for the speer lawman. Thats what ive been running since getting my hk. It is a clean fire round so you get less powder residue left by the the spent round. I do shoot it in .357, but am taking delivery of my hk 9mm some time this week and will be using the same speer ammo for that. I have not had one problem with stovepipes, not ejecting, or anything of the sort for my first 1300 rounds. Welcome again!!

I originally had problems with 115gr. Rem UMC when I first bought my P30. I partially blame myself for not cleaning the P30 enough when I first bought it. I wish I'd used the Bighorn guy's technique for my initial cleaning. What's good is that after around 200 rounds there was never a feed or ejection problem again, and never with any SD rounds ever. I think the trigger has even improved now that I've shot it a lot. When I got my HK45 I thoroughly cleaned it out sent +p TAP rounds through it for good measure initially, never a problem this time.

In this case, since it was with a new pistol, there is a possibility it was the mag spring. Sometimes new mag springs are so stiff that they create "drag" on the last round. Try leaving the mags loaded for the next week or two and see if you can recreate the failure after that (it is typically fixed after leaving the mags loaded for a while). I have only seen this with brand new pistols, but it does happen.
Concerning the failures with the Sig, check your shooting grip; is your thumb possibly riding the slide lock or rubbing against the slide (and retarding its movement)? Other than that, it could be the ammo or some weak mag springs that need replaced.

Don't think so since I am a lefty, but I will pay close attention to my grip next time.

In that case, you would have to have some real talent to ride the slide lock, wouldn't you?
My Father In Law had a Kahr that would not lock back on the last round until I changed my shooting grip a little. It turned out my thumb was against the slide which slowed it down just enough it wouldn't lock back. You might consider replacing your mag springs with Wolff extra power springs if the problem persists with other ammunition.

First let me say, excellent taste in firearms. Glad people are finally seeing the potential of the SP2022. Its sadly underrated.
With Sigs, its imperative you clean the mags well. They ship with gallons on rust preventative oil. This can lead to the slide not locking back as well. The spring doesn't have enough juice (due to fouling) to push the follower up with authority, thus not engaging the slide lock. This usually goes away after the mags are cleaned and/or the springs are cycled a bit. I had the same issue with one of my early 2022's, however it turned out to be a bad (weak) magazine spring.
Next, I find blazer brass to be of pretty good quality. I suspect your P30 needs a bit of a break in, although I'm more of a Sig/Glock aficionado so I'm just speculating.

Every gun is different, some need more breakin than others. I can tell you that I let two complete beginners manhandle my P30L with the factory grease still in it for 300 rounds, and not a single FTE or FTL. My HK45 was a different story, with several of each for the first few hundred rounds until the gun was broken in. I'm at ~3,000 rounds through the HK45 and it hasn't had a hiccup since.

I will try and post a pic of my 3 newest "kids" soon. I trust all 3 guns with my life and will follow recommendations of re-cleaning and just more of a break in period. Thanks all!
