Quick Question: Do the O-Rings on HK threaded barrels really help that much with blow back & cleaning?

Curious to hear your experiences...

thanks,

Everything I have ever read on this forum is that the o-ring doesnt do much at all...

I am a firm believer that if you have a well built pistol it will be accurate anyway

1911, HK 45, USP 45 TAC and SIG P210, P220, P226 etc

I bet if you could put a HK made barrell without the o-ring on the MK 23 or 45 it would be just fine.

Ditto. The o-ring is not for decreasing blowback or ease cleaning, it is for increased accuracy. And for that the only way you will find any increase is if you shoot it out of a machine rest. IMO the o-ring is mostly a gimmick but it may help as acting as a wipe to keep grit from causing the barrel to not lock up tightly in a dirty environment. Since even the non-o-ringed barrels are more accurate than most shooters, and all shooters shooting off hand, the o-ring offers little in the accuracy department IMO.
