View Full Version : Made in USA?

I tried searching with little luck.

A while back I remember reading that HK was going to start either manufacturing or assembling P30 / P30L handguns in the USA. Is this the case? If so when is this supposed to start happening?

I noticed that CDNN is advertising the last batch of German made HK45 pistols before the US made units replace the current stock.

Can someone confirm this? I will continue searching the archives as well.

Thanks,

Lee

I think one question I'd like to know is will this lower the price somewhat since there won't be as large of an exchange rate problem.

Of course, I'd prefer the German made as I figure it's what I'm really paying for. It's like Boxsters made at the Valmet plant in Sweden. While supposedly the Valmet cars had harder clearcoat, I'd still rather have the all German Boxster. Just me though.

The only HK handguns that will be made in the U.S at the Wilcox facility in NH are the HK45 and HK45c.

According to this thread they have already started making the HK45's.....

I can't wait to see the US made HK's. I really don't care which model either. I want to see the quality differences, if any. I highly doubt HK will let anyone stamp their name on a substandard product. I guess time will tell.

I hope you're right. I'd bet there was a similar comment made on Sigforums once upon a time about the P220.

So the German HK45s will have DE on the slide correct? What will the US guns have to indicate US made?

Instead of the stag horn it will have Underwriter's Laboratory proof marks, and a paragraph on the slide explaining that firearms are not toys and they could in fact cause serious injury or death (in english and spanish). =]

Earlier German HK45s (like most of the ones owned here) don't say DE.

I have it from a good source that all U.S. built HK's will have two new control buttons. You press (1) for English....

Forgive me if this sounds stupid but does the stag antler indicate death or injury in German translation?
