Is it true that HK never made a real tactical in 9mm?

I found a thread saying they gave it a threaded barrel and higher sights, but skipped out on the match trigger and the tactical markings on the slide. Is that true?

Was there not enough demand in 9mm?

Thanks!

It is frequently incorrectly called the Tactical 9mm, but it is really the USP 9 SD.

I guess people figure the threaded barrel makes it a tactical...but they'd be wrong. :)

Any thoughts on why the 9mm didn't get the full tactical treatment?

According to HK, the SD was designed for a LE agency and those were the features they requested.
