New to this board, been lurking for some time, been around awhile on ARFCOM and LF.net, but didnt feel worthy of joining board because I sold 2 HK's years ago and regretted it as soon as I did.
Stupid me sold an HK91 several years ago because I needed money..... Dumb GI thing I guess, needed beer money......
I sold my USPc .45 3 years ago and have mainly been shooting Glocks, Lots of Glock and M9 play time.

Anyway...... So I am at the local shop yesterday (my B-Day) and they had an HK.45C in the case, 2 actually one new and one "used". I say used but even the owner couldn't tell them apart he had to check serials hahahahaha
Wow very nice, the only thing holding me back from snatching right away was the grip felt awfully slick. I couldnt, and still can understand why the grip isnt textured like the full size version? Any insight?
Well After 20 minutes of Ooooo's and Ahhhhhh's...... I finally said "wrap it up" and I brought her home.
I paid $800.00 plus Uncle Sugars part and couldnt be happier.
Took her to the range today and REALLY fell in love ..... The 8" steel got kind of boring though because it was so easy to hit from 5-25 yards............ yawn, hahahahahahhaha

Anyway Now that I have replaced my HK91 that I sold years ago with a clone PTR91 and bought a Real HK45C I feel more at home.

I love mine. I have no problem with the grip being slick.

Congrats on a very fine pistol. Amazingly accurate. I have not noticed mine being slick but you could always put a hogue grip on it.

I added a few more pics above.
The target was hit at varing distances as mentioned above 5-25yrds, the low shots on target are me getting used to the double action trigger again. Milking it some. By the of the box of ammo It was butter though.

As you can see I did add a Bike inner tube, may get a hogue dont know. I run Bike innertubes on my Glock 19 and G21SF and G30.

I dont know how its not slick on you guys' guns mine has very little gripping surface especially on sides.

I bought one a few weeks ago and love it. I did not like the feel of the grip at first, not because it was slick but it just didn't feel quite right. I put a Hogue handall I had lying around on and it made all the difference in the world. I love the feel of the gun now and it is my favorite shooter at the moment. It is a real tack driver.

I found the grip to be very slippery as well. I also added a hogue grip and it made the gun feel perfect!

Put the hogue grip on, it makes the gun.

I thought the grip was slick as well, I'm still trying to get used it. I didn't really want to change grips yet, but will probably go with the Hogue's one day.

As much as I love my full size HK 45 the Hk 45c would have been a perfect pistol for me to carry when I was in the Marines due to size, caliber, and accuracy. Certainly would have been preferable to the 1950's multiple rebuild 1911's I was always issued.

The slickness bothered me in the beginning, but just because I was use to the USPc... after shooting it, it is fine, plus it feels GREAT for CCW compared to the USP/P30 types. I did end up putting on the hogue and find that the best.

When I bought my HK45 I was contemplting the 45c but it was just to small for mine hands and coupled with the slickness I passed and bought the fullsize.

+1. The grip size killed it for me. Think otherwise it would have been perfect.

I went to the range again this morning with my HK45c and didn't seem to be as slick, I guess I'm getting used to it. It is my first HK and I am so impressed with it. I am driving tacks and I am just an occasional weekend shooter.

I believe the different grips on the fullsize and the compact are due to different intended rolls. The fullsize is intended for open (duty if you will) carry. It is a fullsize service weapon. The compact was likely intended to be more of a CCW type firearm. I have both, and love them both. My full side rides around in a modified Safariland 6280 holster. My compact either rides in a back up holster attached to my vest, or in an IWB holster when I'm not at work. I have tried, and don't care for carrying the fullsize in the IWB holster, the rough grip and the palm swells add a level of discomfort which is not present when carrying the compact in the same fashion...

just my thoughts on it? could be wrong..... good luck

I use to use Houge grip and..... I like it better now without one as is on HK45C and P2000.
New HK45C feels more like 1911 style to me because its flat. I like these guns. They never stop.

Uncle Mikes slip-on grip on my HK45c. No complaints and makes a big difference.
