View Full Version : Counterfeit Magazines?

I just ordered two ten-round "factory" magazines and received them today. They are supposed to be "H&K genuine factory" 10-round magazines for the USP-C/P2000.

The two 13-rd magazines that came with my P2000 both say "Made in Germany" on the front, and have "P2000 US USP Comp 9x19" on the bottom of the plate.

The two 10-rd magazines I received today are marked "9x19 C US Pat 5,568,696" on the side and "9mm C" on the bottom of the plate. Also, the bottom plate attaches differently, pulls down instead of sliding off. There are no other markings on these mags.

Did I get ripped off? These don't sound like "Genuine H&K factory" mags to me? Does anybody have any known genuine 10-rd mags for comparison of the markings?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Those are the factory mags. 10 rounders use a different design than the full caps.

My 13-rounders sound like your 13-rounders, and my 10-rounders sound like your 10-rounders.

The only difference I can tell from your description is that my 10-rounders also have the Hk logo on the baseplate

Thanks for your input! I also looked up patent #5,568,696, and it belongs to H&K. So I guess I am good to go.

You have HK mags.

The USPc mags had to be changed like that to make them impossible to be altered during the span of the '94 Crime Bill.

Also as has been said, HK changes-up the way they make items anymore. It all depends on which line various parts are made as to whether they have certain markings.
