Just bought a P30L today, I should have it in a couple of days (paperwork)
I know they are very new but does anyone know someone who sells the 10 round mags for them. I've found the 15's but I'm in a "all guns are evil" location where we can only have 10 rounds magazines.....

I just put 150rds thru my new P30L. Now about the trigger it took a little getting used to (after shooting my USP45 all day). Its definately alot longer(pull/resset) and not quite as smooth as my USP (IMO) or maybe because my USP has had 850rds (currently) thru it. Perhaps the trigger on the P30L will get better over time. Overall Im pleased w/the way it shot.

No it came with 2 new 10 rounders.... I can't even have full caps here :(
As for the trigger, they had 2 the first one I tried was a little nicer and the test target was also better. It will take a little getting used to. My other 9mm is a P-7, and I shoot a USP40 Expert in USPSA that had the reset modiifed. I'm just looking at playing a little in Production Division for a change so that's why I picked one up. Plus H K has not had a new gun that I wanted to buy ( that I didn't already have) other than the XM-8.....

Yep they always call me as soon as something new comes in. (he does have another right now ....hint hint)
I don't seem to have a problem finding 15 rounders but you know we need 10 rounders here and If they are cheaper...
I'm just trying to find someone who has them and at what price. CDNN didn't have any (or 15 rounders) I called H&K and got someone who didn't even know they made 10 rounders for them.....So how are they going to sell any of these in NY, CA and HA....

Well the grips are replaceable so I tried a couple different sizes but did'nt get too radical (wide pannels fat rear etc) the texture of the plastic is much better than the USP's. You may be able to leave the skate board tape at home....
The trigger was better than the USP (but not as good as my Expert Limited gun....) I figure I can get used to it. (oh and there was a big differance between the 2 guns they had (I took XXX011 the other was xxx012) the 2nd guns trigger was a lot heaver and had a gritty pull.
The magazine release is different but similar to the USP (longer for more leverage) again I don't think it will be a big deal. They give you a magazine loader with the gun. I don't know why I can easily load 9mm in the 10 rounders (maybe you need it for the 15th round in the full caps)

I'd love 15 round full cap but I think I'd like prison less no full caps here 10 round only. And it really suck when 10 rounders are $70 cdn ($57 US) when you can get 15 rounders for $39 USD.....

Found my old USP45 Holster holds my P30L very nicely. Also my older 40 Expert mag pouches hold the magazine too so It look like I good for shooting now if I can find more magazines I'll be al set....

well that is good news.....saves you from buying or finding a new holster. I have a Speedsec and a Bladetech belt holster that I used for my USP in the gunroom.
I think I even have a spare P30 extractor thanks to Horst Wittman!! A couple of years back he graciously gave me some spare parts.

Anybody willing to sell some p30 10 rounders? I'll pay a premium. I'm not showing that they have been released at all yet, so I'm wondering how you guys have them.

I Call them first and they didn't have any (and were sold out of 15 rounders). I did talk to HK and they said the 10 rounders are coming. I figure the supply is following the guns so it may take a few months to catch up.
I guess the Germans figure you get 2 mags with it who needs more than that....ah.....IPSC shooter need 5 min, I consider 8 reasonable, I have 40 for my USP40 Expert....yes its a little over kill but it was a great deal.

If you look at the magazines the P30 10 rounders are identical to the P2000 10 rounders for the exception of the baseplates. The P30 10 round magazines have the longer baseplate. If one could get those you could easily convert P2000 mags to P30.

Well I finally got to shot it last night. Very nice almost no recoil compared to my 40 Expert. The trigger is very smooth and I had no problem hitting 8" plates at 11 yards. (not bad considering sighting it in consisted of shooting a static target, a drop dissapearing target then shooting both plates... I took 1 extra shot at the steel.
It very accurate but it will take a while getting used to the long reset (compared to the Expert) and that large front sight......
Oh an I only have 5 magazines right now and that a real pain shooting IPSC. I have to stop and top them up after each stage. Normally I'd have 8 but up here they are $80 Cdn, so until I can get some from Cal's (he has them listed for $36 USD but out of stock) I'm going to be spending a lot of time loading between stages.....

Shot mine for the first time yesterday. Its a very nice gun. I definately need to spend more time finding the right backstrap/grip combination. I just need to find the right comfort level. I wasn't able to get it yesterday. Some "stalling" or too much grip movement during mag changes.
The trigger was smooth. I had really good fast follow-up shots which surprised me for the first time shooting. It took a couple sessions with my HK 45.
The Blade Tech HK 45 holster fit well.

I've already messed with the grips. med back strap. Fat left panel, med right panel (I'm a lefty)
It holds nice and centered and shoots right on....

I got both my P30L and extra magazines from Wolverine. I ordered the extra mags when I ordered the gun. I don't know what their supply is like.
You could always buy a spare P30L and have 4 magazines!

I got five mags,...and until I get to maine,..or order from Cals I won't be getting anymore. I paid $60 a piece I think. .....
I shot this without sighting it in first at a local IPSC match, (first stage was my first rounds out of it LOL)...I tanked one field stage, (mag went flying during a mag change and ran dry but did not know it,..which forced a static reload).
I came a close second in a medium....high placing on a field,..won 2 speed stages. The shooters that day in production were B, A,..and a GM(current National Champion), amongst others.
I concur with Black,...the front sight is too big,.but serves a good purpose for what the gun was made for.....
the slide release is unecessarily long,...too long. I guess that is why some people are cutting it down. the mag well could have been more generous, but the mags are tapered in a bit,..like and STI .40 double stack mag.
I left it slide locked back a few nights,..helped work it in a bit. Racking the slide will smooth the action a bit and dryfire will smooth out the heavy DA. FPB polishing helps take out some of the creep-up just before the break.
oh,.I tried small backstrap,..small right side and large left side,.but found the grip tape would not take on the left side due to the curves,...I put small on the left side and grip tape stayed on, no problem so far. There is nothing to do to this pistol. The use of the buffer would allow an even lighter recoil spring,..but nothing is available yet. BTW,..this gun was drop dead reliable out of the box. No malfunctions of any kind.

A spare P30L, eh? Not a bad idea... but I'm trying to save my pennies for a HK45 But thanks anyway for the idea! :p I tried Wolverine, but they have no stock right now. I also tried TSE and P&D with no luch at either... :(

bkraus,
I have been very happy with my HK45. You should like it. It took a while for spare magazines to come for my HK45 and I did the same thing, I ordered them when I ordered the gun.
If you know you are going to buy one I'd recommend keeping an eye out for magazines now and starting to pick them up when opportunity arises.

how do you like the hk45? can you compare it to a any other .45's?
I was hoping HK comes out with a .40 I could dress up and use in Limited 10/ standard division.

I cannot compare it with other .45's. My HK45 is the first .45 I shot, and the only one I own,...... for now.
I found it remarkably easy to shoot considering I had only shot 9mm and not for very long. I had a 28 round practice stage that I liked to shoot, and I was only a bit behind the times with my custom sport.
I am undecided on whether the larger mag release is helpful for me.

That is a very good idea. Thanks for the tip! I might as well try to find mags for both guns while I'm calling around and stockpile what I can.
Speaking of mags.... It still makes me angry every time I look at all of that wasted space in the P30L 10 round mags. Sigh... I miss the good old days of standard capacity mags...
