Been carrying for years - but usually in a leather OWB belt holster.

I'm getting an HK USPc 45 this week for IWB carry.

In the Texas heat - it gets awefully hot. (lots of sweating)

Think the coating on the slide will be okay without constant oil wipes at the end of every day (on the slide)?

For a while, you'll be fine. But all of those metal parts have a corrosion RESISTANT finish, not a corrosion PROOF finish.

I have a USP slide that has a huge rust spot on it (and the barrel looks 30 times worse) after a guy left it in his basement for too long and had a leak in the basement he didn't know about.

Just wipe it down every now and then is all I'm saying. Once a day isn't bad. I wipe mine down once a week or so.

If your that worried, you could always just buy a Glock. ;)

Eezox it and you won't have anything to worry about.

I had a Glock 26 for 8 years, and didn't worry about the finish at all. However, I hated the gun. I switched to a P99c in 2005 - but I never carried the gun IWB (and, the slide is hard chromed).

I wanna step up to a 45 carry gun, so I really want the USPc

I highy recommend an IWB with a sweatshield regardless of the wiz bang finish on the gun especially if it's hot and humid and you carry against bare skin. I have two AKJConcealco IWB's (one is for a Walther P99 as a matter of fact), both ordered with the optional sweatband. As far as I'm conerned there are no negatives with having a holster with a sweatband unless it impedes presentation.

I ordered a Bladetech Nano just now - it does have a shield.
