I just want to vent.
I sold one of my USP 45's to a friend of mine. I sold it to him because I had four and wasn't shooting two of them. He wanted one, so I made him a deal. We went shooting Saturday morning and I brought my USP Compact 45 to compare to the full size.
I LOVE shooting HKs in 45. My USP Expert, USP, HK45. They're all great combat pistols. BUT, my USP Compact 45...yeah not so much. I brought 200 rds of 45 and shot 50. My friend shot some of those 50 and we put the Compact 45 away and shot my 686 and .22 the rest of the day.
I'm not selling it cause it completes my USP Compact collection. I guess it will just be a safe queen for now. Like I said, I just wanted to vent. Thanks guys.

I just put 100 rounds through my SS .45c yesterday. As it is my carry, I try to get 100 or so rounds in per month. I love it.

x2 I just brought mine out from a long slumber last week and put 50rds through it. After 10 rounds I was consistently putting them in the bull at 10yds. The USP 45c is what got me into HK's, you aren't going to vent on it here on my watch without a rebuttal!! :D

Shot 100 through mine yesterday and I can't imagine shooting any other 45 out there, including the 1911's I've had the pleasure of getting range time with (of course when I buy an HK45 this will probably change ;) ).

Recoil was the biggest issue. I just don't like it compared to the Full Size USP or HK45. Second would be the feel. Don't like how it fits in my hand. Trigger is ok.
I do love the look of that gun. I have a GG&G rail on it. I like that it's reliable. I wouldn't feel under gunned carrying it or using it to save my life.
But no, its NOT doing anything is not suppose to.

Do you find the recoil that much different between a full sized USP and the Compact? I'm kind of shocked, because unless it's the double spring thing the Full has over the spring in the USP, I cannot imagine that little difference in length making a very big (key word very) difference in recoil.
Interested to say the least; but hey, you've still got an HK, so we cannot rag on you too hard :).

Yes its just a preference thing. And yes I do find that much difference between a full sized USP and the Compact in terms of recoil.
Rag on me all you wish, its all good!!! ;)
That and I'll be buying a P220R Combat next Saturday. :D

Not really a complaint, but I've often thought the USP .45C kinda stretches the standard definition of "compact." Still, it's an awesome gun, so...

I feel similar to the OP.
My fullsized USP 45 is my FAVORITE pistol to shoot while my USPc 45 is towards the other end of the spectrum.
The fullsized pistol has the HK recoil reduction system and has a much softer recoil compared the compact version, which does not have it.
The HK line of USP fullsized pistols are considered among the softest shooting ones because of their patented recoil reduction system. The USP compact versions do not have this system. I believe the HKc does also have this recoil reduction system along with the fullsized line.

If you mean the HK45 compact, no, it does not have the more elaborate recoil system like the fullsize USP, nor does the fullsize HK45. :)
