I'm considering those two. does the extra length of the barrel make measurable (practical) differences?
I need some help on deciding.
Thanks for your help in advance.

Longer sight radius which can help with accuracy. The real plus is the improved balance. Also I love the way the HK45 feels and so I welcome the added weight. The two guns weigh almost identical.

I just purchased a p30L and my buddy owns the p30 after shooting both I feel that the extra length seems to balance the gun better but can make it slightly harder to conceal. Either way your going to get a great gun and you can't go wrong with either.

If you are looking for a conceal carry gun then consider the p2000sk. My conceal carry choice would be a p2000sk in .357sig until the p30sk comes out.

actually, that is one of the other options that I was considering.
the grip is shorter on P2000SK, correct?

Yes it is. All specs are smaller. The comfort factor is huge. This gun is perfect for a CCW. I love the p30 line and I am lusting after the P30L but for a CCW you want comfort if you are IWB. Only time I would carry a p30/L is in a shoulder rig or OWB holster but I am not in an open carry state or a concealed carry state so I can't enjoy the comforts of the p2000sk anyway. So it's range guns for me and home defense only. :( Members do carry the p30 IWB and will tell you that it works great as long as you have a under shirt between you and the rough texture. I reason why not be more comfortable with the SK? Yes you loose 5 rounds with the 9mm and 6 with the 357 or 40 but if you can't do the job with 9 then you are in trouble. So my take is get the p2000SK in 357 or 40 for CCW and get the p30L for the range.

Ahh, I kind of made it sound as if the p30sk is in the works or something. Didn't mean to mislead. This was just some wishful thinking on my part.

LOVE shooting my P30 at the range and LOVE the 15+1 capacity. When it comes to carry, however, the P2000SK was made for it. Great little gun!
