I tries to remove the P9S Recoil Buffer following the procedure as described in

http://homepage.mac.com/timetravelfoundation/PhotoAlbum14.html

After successfully removing top screw and bottom screw in Pict. 7
The screw locking plate (The small one in Pict. 9) can be remove flewlessly.

Unfortunately, the buffer housing plate (the big one in Pict. 9) cannot be removed from the frame, I tried to lift it up (vertical) and also tried to slide it off (horizontal) all seems to be stuck.

Coule anyone please help me how to remove it out??

Thanks in advance..

Below are a few sites that concern the P9S. Great pistol!!
Is yours a .45 or 9mm?
I had to take a wooden dowl, like a wooder skewer, plastic rod, or even gentle with a small flat screwdriver and scrape mine out. I used tweezers first to get the majority of the stuff out. It was just like chewing gum, beyond crumbly. I used WD40 or CLP, can't remember which, to do the final cleaning. My real problem came trying to reinstall the housing. Mine was the first generation. I finally had to get my son to hold while I pushed. I ended up sending my pistol to HK for a front sight replacement, mine was bent, and they replaced the housing with the updated version that snapped in easily. I also had my springs replaced and the feed ramp polished. I probably didn't need to do that but the gun is a joy to shoot. HTH.

Hi There, Bentonville

My P9S is .45 caliber with 2 mags.

It is my second .45 P9S in pretty good condition (the first one was carelessly used with rusty inside) so I have to maintain its condition.

After reading your reply, I decide to send mine to HK as well to get the buffer replacement.

Fortunately, HK Thailand has the same reputation on customer service as in US.

Many thanks for your useful information,

I just replaced mine yesterday on a NIB 1981 45 target model in preparation for it's first outting. It was a bitch to get the new buffer in. The new buffer was about 1mm longer than the old one. I forced it in. I didnt know that there were different generations. I also had my son hold it while I pushed.

Be patient ouddy, it'll come. I scoured the web for P9S info but didn't find the page from your link. Those buffer pictures look exactly like mine. Thanks fro the info. It even states, "Check out the different lengths of buffers". I had no idea until I experienced it first hand. I even told my kid "I thought the buffers from 9 and 45 were the same. If I had a 9, I'd guess the longer buffer was for 45 but since this is a 45, let's force it". lmao. I gotta send that link to my kid. Pease update us when you're done replacing it.

eta: ouddy was typing as I was typing. I hope HK CS takes care of you.

Hey. I meant they replaced the buffer HOUSING with the updated one. I didn't mean to imply I sent it in for buffer replacement. Acutally I didn't know they had an updated one until I sent it in for the front sight replacement. Hope I didn't confuse anyone. Travis, who was there when I got mine buffed up last year, is no longer with HK. Call and get the authorization number from them before sending and all that. I
know you know that but just to be sure. Good luck.

Thanks for that info too. I don't know how the hell I missed that when searching. It was a while ago that I looked for info. A bit embarrassing but things worked out ok. Any info on the different buffer housing would be appreciated. Mine's an '81 so I assume it's the newer buffer housing but how do I tell?
